Ryan Mason has had a perfect start to senior full-time management with West Brom, winning every competitive match to this point.
West Brom secured an opening-day victory over Blackburn Rovers before progressing from the first round of the Carabao Cup.
Their latest success was a victory over Wrexham away in Wales, the club’s first away win in the Championship since November 2024.
While West Brom fans were not pleased about the coverage of their side in the build-up to the game, they won’t care, as they got the three points.
It is early days, but there is a confidence building around the Hawthorns about a potential promotion this season, with Isaac Price buying into that exact ambition.
Now Ryan Mason has explained exactly what the perfect game under him at West Brom looks like, and fans will love his description.
Mason on the ‘perfect game’ for his West Brom
Following their victory over Wrexham, West Brom manager Ryan Mason was asked about what he thought a perfect game for the Baggies would look like under him by Robert Earnshaw while on ITV.
Mason attempted to play down the question in his answer, but at the same time it will have given encouragement to Baggies fans.
He said: “It is a difficult one to answer; the perfect game is to win first of all.
“I think the most important thing is respect and hard work within the group, and we need to kind of build that togetherness to build towards something, and what that end product looks like now, I probably couldn’t tell you.
“Most important for me is I want a team out on the pitch every single game that are working for each other, fighting for each other.”
How far Isaac Price can develop
A standout performance from the victory over Wrexham was Isaac Price, with the Northern Ireland international scoring a brace to guide them to a win.
Price has impressed many so far in the Championship with his early performances this season, building on his last campaign.
This includes his manager, who said to Sky Sports: “We understand his potential and his ceiling; it’s a very high ceiling.
“But he has to put in the work and stay humble; keep working, and we are impressed.
“We are happy he is impacting games up the pitch; that is ultimately the job of all our attacking players, so he has got his goals today, but I think more importantly are the work rate and effort he put in.”
