Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards has been left impressed following his arrival in the North East.
After sacking Michael Carrick following a 10th-place finish, Rob Edwards was installed as the new Middlesbrough manager.
Steve Gibson wants to take Middlesbrough to the Premier League, but his new coach is facing an uphill battle.
Rav van den Berg could leave, while Hayden Hackney’s future is in doubt despite rejecting a move to Ipswich Town.
It’s not all negative for the Teessiders, though, with Edwards impressed by one thing he’s noticed since taking the role.

Middlesbrough have impressed Rob Edwards
It was a very slow start to the transfer window for the North East outfit, who were the third-last team to make a signing behind Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday, the latter are under a transfer embargo.
Middlesbrough have gone on to sign three new players, the latest being Callum Brittain from Blackburn Rovers.
Now, an insight into Boro’s recruitment this summer has been shared.
According to the Northern Echo, transfer chiefs Kieran Scott and Chris Jones are in constant contact with Edwards regarding new signings, with the duo in a WhatsApp group alongside the manager and the rest of his coaching team.
It’s added that the former Luton Town manager is said to have been left impressed by the ‘clarity’ of Boro’s recruitment this summer.

Rob Edwards shares Middlesbrough transfer update
With less than a month of the window to go, Middlesbrough still want to make more signings.
We revealed last week that two new strikers are expected at Boro this summer, with a deal for Danny Ings still potentially on the cards.
Now, Edwards has given an update on what the Teessiders are looking for in new signings.
He said: “What we’re trying to do with recruitment is bring people in that can play a couple of different positions,” revealed Edwards.
“If you have that versatility, it allows us to change either in-game or for different opposition.”
