Wrexham began their life in the Championship with a dramatic loss to Southampton, conceding two goals in additional time to lose 2-1.
The Red Dragons had taken the lead through a first-half penalty but were unable to take a number of chances to secure the win before Jack Stephens popped up to claim the winner late on for Southampton.
While it was a disappointing day for Wrexham and Phil Parkinson due to the result, there were a number of positive signs, the main one being they could and arguably should have won the match.
Wrexham will be hopeful this experience can help them secure a win at home this weekend when they come up against West Brom, who were inspired by Nat Phillips in their opening-day victory over Blackburn Rovers.
John Busby has been appointed referee for the clash
The EFL have announced who the referee for the clash between Wrexham and West Brom will be this weekend, with John Busby being selected.
According to WhoScored.com, Wrexham have a 100% record when Busby has been in charge of their matches.
They claim that he has only ever taken charge of one of their fixtures in his last 183 fixtures, and the Red Dragons secured a victory in this fixture.

It was also recorded that he awarded nine fouls against Wrexham in that fixture; however, he did not brandish any cards to the Welsh side in the match.
Busby is usually in charge of Championship games, and so this would be why he has not taken charge of many Wrexham games; however, he has been in charge of five West Brom league fixtures.
The Baggies have won three of those five league fixtures, giving them a 60% win record when Busby has been in charge.
West Brom have, however, seen at least one yellow card being brandished to them when Busby has been in the middle, receiving six altogether.

The officials for the West Brom and Wrexham match
This fixture will be a game with a lot of firsts, as it will be the first league game that Wrexham and West Brom ever play against each other.
The last time the pair faced off was in 1930 in the FA Cup, with Wrexham emerging as winners.
It will also be the first league game that Busby will take charge of this season in the Championship, with the referee only being involved in a Carabao Cup game.
He will be joined by Nigel Lugg and Mark Stevens as his assistants, while the fourth official for the game will be Dean Whitestone.
