Blackburn Rovers have been busy in the transfer window this summer as they look to improve upon their campaign last year, as they narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs on the final day.

Valerien Ismael is doing all he can to get his team prepared for next weekend’s fixtures; however, there is still more work to be done ahead of the Championship campaign.

Blackburn have been taking shape and seem to have understood the approach the French manager is looking to deploy at Ewood Park, with Ryan Alebiosu praising the coaching and tactics of Ismael.

The club have lost some key players, as Tyrhys Dolan has signed for Espanyol, while Andreas Weimann joined Derby County.

There is a need to strengthen up top for Blackburn and due to the financial restrictions, the club are experiencing, they may have to think outside the box when it comes to their recruitment.

Blackburn Rovers should explore the signing of Ronan Hale

Ronan Hale is not a name that many may know within England, having played the majority of his career outside the country, but beginning his career at Birmingham City in 2017.

He scored 28 goals in 23 games for Birmingham City U21 side in his first season at the club but would fail to break into the senior team before joining Crusaders in 2019.

The Northern Ireland international has been the subject of interest from clubs in England, including Luton Town, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

Hale earned an international call-up to Northern Ireland last season after his performances in the Scottish Premiership for Ross County, as he scored 18 goals across 42 appearances; however, the club were still relegated.

The 26-year-old is desperate to be part of the Northern Ireland squad that will attempt to qualify for the World Cup, as he explained to the Belfast Telegraph after his international debut.

He said: “I’m hungry for more now. It’s one that I can build on. I’ve done what I can, and hopefully it’s enough to keep me in the squad for the World Cup games, though it’s down to club form as well. I need to be performing every week because there’s a tough pool of strikers that are all competing to be included.

“There’s people playing in League One and the Championship in England, and we’re all fighting for that number nine spot. It’s healthy competition.”

Forward options for Blackburn Rovers

This drive and ambition should interest Rovers as they search for a man who can help them up front.

While Hale is clinical in front of goal, he is also a player willing to put in the graft and press, something Ismael values highly, and so it would make him a perfect signing for the Lancashire club.

Ismael has players who are incredibly adept at pressing the way he wants it; however, their ability in front of goal is questionable at times.

So investing in the Northern Ireland international who is hungry to prove himself and earn international call-ups to fight for his World Cup dream is a no-brainer.
