Hull City star completes injury comeback with two-goal masterclass, Swansea City may be his next victims

One Hull City forward has now fully recovered from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and he looks better than ever following a brilliant two-goal showing.

It has been a challenging start to the season for Hull City and Sergej Jakirovic, who have gone into the first international break of the campaign with four points in as many games.

Despite the brilliant start, having held Coventry City to a 0-0 draw at the CBS Arena, followed by a 3-2 home win against Oxford United, Hull City have suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City.

Whilst it is by no means set to be a breeze for Hull City this season after they were handed a transfer fee restriction for two windows, prohibiting Acun Ilicali and Jared Dublin, the Head of Recruitment, from significantly bolstering Jakirovic’s squad, they will now be boosted by the return of one player from injury, one who could cause trouble for Swansea City in his first start back.

Hull City star Mo Belloumi shines in U21 clash ahead of Swansea City bout

In Mo Belloumi’s long road to recovery after he suffered an ACL injury last season, he returned to the pitch in the 3-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers. After his five-minute spell against Blackburn, he was then handed 22 minutes of action in the trip to Bristol City.

Following his two short cameos, he has now notched a significant chunk of gametime, having started and played 60 minutes for Hull City U21 in their win against Birmingham City.

The performance against the Blues was sublime by the Algerian, with the winger bagging two goals, including a phenomenal strike into the roof of the net from distance.

His first start showed that he was back to his best and his abilities had not been hampered by his injury, and that makes for an exciting prospect for Hull City fans when he likely receives a start against Swansea City.

The Algerian 23-year-old will be motivated to cause Swansea City problems on his return to regular professional football, although it will be a major challenge, knowing that the Swans have only conceded two goals in their first four games.

Sergej Jakirovic already knows that Mo Belloumi will cause havoc

While Mo Belloumi has continued his return to football, Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic has been full of praise for the winger, singling him out as a difference maker.

Via Hull Live, Jakirovic said: “Yes, for sure (it’s great to see him back).

“You will see in the training that he has very high quality in every moment with the ball and without the ball, so it will be a very big improvement for us.”

Belloumi will be a welcome addition to the current Hull City starting side, and there will be hope that his direct nature will work well, with Joel Ndala on the other flank, to help unleash the abilities of Oli McBurnie through the centre.
