Leeds United dropped further points against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon, but that isn’t how Daniel Farke is viewing things at Kenilworth Road.

The Whites went behind against Luton when Isaiah Jones notched the opener, but Dan James quickly equalised after just a matter of minutes.

Leeds are showing real signs of falling apart at the end of this season once again, with a feeling of deja vu for many of the club’s supporters now setting in during the run-in.

Leeds have six games to overtake Burnley and Sheffield United but things are no longer in their hands in the automatic promotion race and they will fear the play-offs given their record there.

Daniel Farke’s ‘good point’ claim revealed on Sky Sports

Daniel Farke spoke to Sky Sports post-match to give his thoughts on the draw and the nature of the point is certain to rile up many Leeds supporters.

He said: “Yeah, a good point on the road.

“Many of these players have played in the Premier League last season. “A very physical side. We know they are on the up right now — fighting with a knife between the teeth for each and every point.

“Especially when they take the lead. It’s a tough place to go and to stay cool and calm and equalise.

“Yes, of course, it’s a tough game to go and for second balls. You have to defend all the long balls and set-pieces and long throw-ins.

“We’ve done really, really well apart from one half-chance for them. Of course, then you have to be patient and to create your one chance.

“Sadly, we missed the 100% chance for Manor Solomon. Such a game, where you want to win it, you have to use such a situation.

“Patrick [Bamford] and also Isaac Schmidt late on were also pretty close a few times. Overall, you have to say, both teams were fighting for each and every ball.

“It’s a good point on the road and it also helps us for our upcoming games. “You can’t drop any points. This rule changed 20 years ago. You can just win points. One point or three points.

“It’s a difficult game on the road. I’ve been and worked in so many promotion battles. You face a team, especially like Luton, who are underperforming during the season — but they are up and they are fighting.

“The whole stadium is buzzing and you play against Leeds United. It’s such a difficult game. Don’t underestimate a point. A point is sometimes pretty, pretty priceless.

“I would’ve preferred to win the game today and to reach our points tally that we want to reach. But this was definitely one of our toughest games in the run-in. We have another tough away game coming up.

“This week is tough. You have to dig in and grind out points. It’s what we did and today will be helpful. Don’t underestimate one point.

“I liked that we showed some steel today. We showed resilience. You have to dig in and fight and grind out.”

Draws are killing Leeds United’s season and Daniel Farke’s claim will leave supporters angry

Draws can kill a team’s season as much as defeats. Leeds may have only lost one of the last six but they have also drawn four games in that time and the others aren’t slipping up.

The Whites have to make further changes and find solutions after having lost their inevitability factor in games. The attack looks laboured and lethargic. The side have lost all zip and momentum in their performances.

His stance doesn’t even make sense. Leeds are now potentially four points away from Sheffield United if they defeat Oxford United. Should they win that but lose lose to Burnley, then both would be ahead of Leeds.

It’s Farke’s job to rediscover the team’s attacking intent and find the required wins in the last six games. But it is not in Leeds’ hands and nor is it a good point on the road at the business end of a campaign.
