Leicester City found the missing piece to their promotion puzzle at the eleventh hour

Just when we thought Leicester City wouldn’t be doing anything this window, they surprised us all.

Leicester made three signings on transfer deadline day and only lost one key man, as Bilal El Khannouss left for Stuttgart.

Overall, it’s a window that Marti Cifuentes can feel relatively happy about, and he can now start building towards the Foxes’ main priority of getting out of the Championship.

Out of all of the signings though, there is one who will connect all the pieces together and make Leicester a force to be reckoned with.

Jordan James is the perfect Leicester City signing

The Foxes addressed their biggest issue as Julian Carranza signed on loan from Feyenoord while Aaron Ramsey joined from Burnley on loan to bolster the attacking lines.

Jordan James is the one that excited fans the most after he joined on loan for the season.

Rennes confirmed there is an option to buy James if he impresses at the King Power Stadium and there is every reason to look forward to seeing the Wales international in action.

Traditionally a box-to-box midfielder, the 23-year-old is great at carrying the ball while also capable of spreading the ball across the pitch with diagonal passes.

He is also capable of a goal or two, as proved when he faced Leicester in 2023, as James scored a brace in a 3-2 win for the Foxes against Birmingham City.

It was late in the day before James was confirmed, but the former Birmingham man admitted that he couldn’t wait to get started.

Speaking to Leicester’s official social media channels, he said: “I’m glad it’s over the line. Not many people do it on deadline day, so it was nice to get it done. Coming here, I just can’t wait to get started and I can’t wait to play football regularly; that’s the main thing for me.

“When Leicester came calling, it was something I was really open to.

“I know where the club’s heading and it’s only going to go one way. Obviously, the history of the club is that, for me, it’s a Premier League club and that’s where I want to take them.

“This year, it is my aim to help the club and help my team-mates to get us to where we know the club should be. I’ve always thought highly of Leicester; I’ve always said I’d suit a club like Leicester.”
