Things just aren’t going to plan for Norwich City right now, and Liam Manning has now been hit with another injury blow.
When Liam Manning took over at Norwich City, everyone expected this to be the start of a beautiful relationship. At the moment, however, it’s more like a disastrous first date.
It’s been so disappointing that fans are even reminiscing about Johannes Hoff Thorup. While results have been poor and inconsistent, there’s no denying Manning has been dealt a rough hand.
New signing Mathias Kvistgaarden and defender Ben Chrisene are out injured. And now, another name has been added to the injury list.

Liam Manning shares injury verdict on Papa Amadou Diallo
During the 3-2 defeat against Wrexham at Carrow Road on Saturday, fans saw Norwich’s summer signing Papa Amadou Diallo leave the field of play. Turns out, it was far more than just a precaution.
Providing an update, Manning said: “It’s not good news. It’s a bad injury to his quad so he’s going to be out for a few months. It’s very disappointing, it will be [surgery].
“It wasn’t a loading issue, we have to look at what we deliver and why. He’s new to the league, there was no flags, no issues with it.
“He had settled into life here and shown some really exciting moments. It’s an opportunity now to increase his work off the pitch and his English. He’ll come back better for it. It’s going to be a considerable amount of time. We’re talking three or four months.”

It’s time for Norwich City to bring Nathan Redmond back
As the player tipped to replace Borja Sainz, this is not ideal at all for Norwich. Diallo was new to the Championship and English football, and as such, he needed this time to adjust to his new surroundings.
With this injury, he will miss vital game time and it’s a significant setback in his attempts to get to grips with the rigours of the game here.
But, Norwich City could replace Diallo with one man: Nathan Redmond. The former Canaries star is one of the best free agents still available right now, and he would fill that void on the wings perfectly for Norwich now.
A short-term deal for the 31-year-old would suit Norwich down to the ground, and who knows, maybe he could recapture his best form given the chance?
