Marti Cifuentes cannot repeat same Leicester City mistake he did in West Brom draw vs Wrexham

Leicester City will want to avoid going four games without a win when they face Wrexham on Tuesday night.

Nat Phillips’ own goal in stoppage time meant Leicester continued their unbeaten record at West Bromwich Albion.

It was a performance lacking any sort of creativity, with 10 of the starting XI part of the side relegated to the Championship without a whimper.

Marti Cifuentes needs to change plenty from that draw against The Hawthorns, including one big mistake he made.

Marti Cifuentes cannot drop Jordan James for Leicester vs Wrexham

The decision to withdraw Jordan James at half time was met with confusion by the Leicester fans in the away end.

James had started in the number 10 role, despite suiting a box-to-box role.

He was replaced by Julian Carranza, who went up front and allowed Jordan Ayew to drop deeper into James’ role.

Not only did Leicester look more sluggish, the lack of flair and constant slowing down of attacks killed any momentum the Foxes had.

As per Sofascore, James made 12 successful passes out of 13 and made one key pass – the same amount as Ayew managed with an extra 30 minutes on the pitch.

When is Aaron Ramsey back for Leicester City?

One of the issues that Cifuentes has had to contend with is the lack of a real number 10.

Louis Page looked like he would be given a chance, only for the Foxes boss to drop him in the past two games.

Aaron Ramsey was meant to be the first choice player, but has missed the last two games following Ramsey’s red card against Oxford United.

He’s missed games against Coventry City and West Brom, and will miss the game against Wrexham before coming back into contention against Swansea City.
