Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is yet to move on from his post at the club, and it begs the question of what would happen if he were to remain in S6.
Sheffield Wednesday were led to a successful 12th placed finish in the 2024/25 Championship season, where they even managed to mount a minor play-off push under the stewardship of Danny Rohl.
Various off-the-pitch issues, including Dejphon Chansiri paying Sheffield Wednesday players late, eclipsed the positive season, and now the next issue continues to be Rohl’s unresolved future at the club.
Rohl has made comments to the German media about his future at Hillsborough Stadium, alluding that a new challenge is his most favoured pathway, although the coach is still under contract at Sheffield Wednesday.
Preparing for the upcoming season as soon as possible is of paramount importance to Sheffield Wednesday, and they might have to stick or twist with the German; if they did decide to stick by his side, it could throw up one issue.

Danny Rohl may struggle to rejuvenate Sheffield Wednesday squad
When Rohl initially took over from the hapless Xisco Munoz, the German coach did an impeccable job to get a tune out of the side that was firmly planted bottom of the Championship table.
Unfortunately, it would be likely that the current ranks of players could once again need picking up, and Rohl might not be the best option for them; his desire to want to leave the club will likely reflect on the players.
The connection that Rohl had with the squad may be difficult to revive, and this could feed into the confidence and ability of the players.

Danny Rohl will need to regain the trust of Owls squad
Sheffield Wednesday need stability at the moment, and Rohl isn’t necessarily the wrong person to provide that, but he will need to make strides to rebuild the bridges in the squad.
To lay out his market stall and (potentially) struggle to find a route out of the club, it would be difficult to come back from that, but Rohl must be the bigger person in this case and admit that the way he has conducted himself in the media doesn’t reflect well on him or the club, even though he could perhaps find himself in a higher standing job soon.
The last thing Sheffield Wednesday need is a tangible disconnect between the coaches and players, so if Rohl is to stay, there needs to be imminent progress so that the current situation doesn’t skew the plans ahead.
