When you perform to a high standard, other clubs are going to want you.
Bristol City have found that out the hard way just weeks after suffering a heavy play-off defeat at the hands of Sheffield United.
Liam Manning looks set to join Norwich City with a deal almost complete, meaning he will swap Ashton Gate for Carrow Road for the upcoming Championship season.
Manning worked wonders with Bristol City before they were humbled by the Blades and many will be surprised to see him leaving a side he guided to the top six for a team that finished in midtable.
Born in Norwich, the 39-year-old will return to where it all began and will be hoping to bring in some familiar faces to bolster his squad.
With that, here are three Bristol City players that could follow Manning to Norwich this summer, as identified by EFL Analysis.

Max O’Leary – Goalkeeper
Sheffield United may have hammered Bristol City, but don’t let that distract you from the fact that Max O’Leary was brilliant for the Robins.
Without O’Leary, Manning’s men could’ve easily missed out on a top six spot and he will be a man in-demand anyway.
Norwich need a goalkeeper now Angus Gunn has left and with the 28-year-old’s contract expiring in 2026, he could be available for a cut-price fee.
Rob Dickie – Defender
Defence was a huge problem for Norwich and under Manning, Rob Dickie was one of the stalwarts at the back.
Sitting in the heart of defence, Dickie is the perfect option when it comes to Championship experience but also being young enough to become a mainstay in the side.
He could step into the role that Shane Duffy has occupied to provide fresh legs, a threat in the opposition box and form part of the spine of the side that Manning wants to build.
Anis Mehmeti – Midfielder
Anis Mehmeti was one of the standout players for Bristol City this season, scoring 12 times in all competitions.
The 24-year-old is probably the Robins’ main asset and is likely to command a healthy fee.
Josh Sargent could be moving on in the summer and Borja Sainz is talking to Athletic Bilbao, meaning their goals will need replacing.
Mehmeti can help plug that gap if he has a season like he had this year, but can’t be seen as the focal point for goals.
