What a summer this has been for Wrexham and their supporters.
Having won three successive promotions, taking themselves from the National League to the Championship, many on the outside may have seen this season as the biggest bump in the road.
While they have perhaps not quite had the dream start to life in the second tier, an excellent 2-0 win over Millwall away from home on Saturday is proof that they have the quality to compete in the division.
Kieffer Moore is proving to be crucial for Wrexham, yet this could have been the most extraordinary summer had one transfer come off for Phil Parkinson.

Wrexham nearly made the signing of the summer with Christian Eriksen
The ‘Hollywood’ tag that the Red Dragons have is something that the club take pride in, with Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney using their fame to put the Welsh side on the map.

While they have done this excellently so far, the signing of Christian Eriksen would have given the team even greater publicity.
It was reported by the Daily Mail that the former Manchester United midfielder was of interest to Wrexham, and Parkinson later admitted that conversations had taken place between the parties.
He said: “There was a call, a bit of dialogue over the summer, but it’s not gone any further than that. But obviously he’s a majorly talented player and very well respected throughout football.”
Christian Eriksen has had a wonderful career
While Eriksen has perhaps not had the accolades that his career has deserved, there is no denying the quality that the midfielder has shown throughout the last decade alone.
In fact, it was perhaps his appearances for Brentford that proved just how superb a player he truly is, as he came back from suffering a cardiac arrest for Denmark, to playing in the Premier League once again.

His manager at the time, Thomas Frank, could not praise Eriksen more, and Wrexham will be gutted to have missed out on him. Frank said in April 2022 (via: The Standard) : “Christian is a top player, an unbelievable character and he brings quality and calmness to the team. You can give it to Christian and he’ll always find a solution.
“From the beginning I thought, ‘Everything has been checked in his entire body’. He didn’t have an injury like an ACL and when he took that decision that he wanted to play in the World Cup, that determination [of] ‘I want to come back into football’ [was there] and his foundation physically was quite good.
“We never knew how quick it would take to get to this level but it’s impressive how quick.”
