Wrexham are preparing for their first Championship campaign since 1982 this summer following their incredible promotion from League One as runners up this season.
It’s been back-to-back-to-back promotions for Wrexham in the last three years, with Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney helping to take the Welsh club from the National League to the second tier in next to no time at all.
However, this summer will be a very busy one for the Red Dragons as they look to undergo a massive squad overhaul to allow them to compete against the likes of Leicester City, Southampton and potentially Sheffield United.
As per Darren Witcoop, Wrexham are targeting Ryan Hardie and Callum Robinson in the transfer window as they look at to their ranks up front, and Luton Town, the third team to get relegated from the Championship in 2024/25, could also face a fight to keep hold of their main striker.
Wrexham must pursue a deal for Carlton Morris
Phil Parkinson wants Championship-ready players, and Carlton Morris should be at the top of his list this summer following the Hatters’ return to League One after six years away from the division.

He excelled in the Premier League in 2023/24, finding the back of the net 11 times in 38 games. However, like his team, the 29-year-old failed to adapt back to the second tier and he scored just 8 goals as Luton finished 22nd.
The captain of the Hatters will not take kindly to playing in League One due to his top flight experience, and moving to a club with the ambitions of the Red Dragons could be extremely enticing with the project at the Racecourse Ground picking up pace by the year.
Matt Bloomfield was extremely honest about Luton’s relegation, and it looks set to be a busy summer at Kenilworth Road with fresh faces and ideas needed to get the Bedfordshire outfit back on track, which could see plenty of exits.
Carlton Morris needs a new beginning after successive relegations
While he has been a key player for the Hatters over the last three years, Morris cracked under the pressure at times this season and the struggles of the rest of the team made it tough for him to excel in the same way that he has done previously.

Wrexham need to find that proven goal scorer at Championship-level and they also will want to prove to the rest of the league that they are not just there to make up the numbers.
Fellow promotion winners Birmingham City will spend plenty once again after a record-breaking League One campaign and the Red Dragons will be hoping to keep pace with those coming up from the third tier.
Lowering the average age of the squad is also imperative for Parkinson, and while Morris is 30 later this year, he is significantly younger than the likes of Paul Mullin, Steven Fletcher and Ollie Palmer, while Sam Smith will only benefit from his experience.
