Blackburn Rovers have had a difficult summer, with key players departing, while their performances on the pitch have not exactly been inspiring.
A 2-1 defeat to League One side Bradford City on Tuesday evening saw the Lancashire outfit crash out of the Carabao Cup in the first round, with Valerien Ismael revealing afterwards that Lewis Travis wants to join Derby County.
The Rams have been the main source of frustration for Rovers this summer. Andreas Weimann has returned to Pride Park, while Danny Batth has reunited with John Eustace in the East Midlands.
Both Callum Brittain and Tyrhys Dolan have also left Ewood Park, and now EFL Analysis can provide an update on Aynsley Pears’ future at Blackburn.

Aynsley Pears is yet to find any suitors after Blackburn Rovers decision
Valerien Ismael explained to the Lancashire Telegraph ahead of the defeat to Bradford that Rovers are open to offers for the goalkeeper.

However, there is one issue that Blackburn are facing, and that is his contract. Our Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey, has exclusively told EFL Analysis the situation involving Pears, and the potential timeline of a move.
He said: “The club definitely won’t stand in his way. He’s got two in front of him there now. But he’s got two years left on his contract so it won’t be easy to get him out.
“We’ll see how it develops, but there’s no one club that he’s destined for right now. Injuries elsewhere may play a part.”

Aynsley Pears has seen himself slide down the pecking order at Ewood Park
Pears made 40 appearances in the Championship last season, conceding just 43 goals and registering 13 clean sheets as Blackburn narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
However, in the first two games of this campaign, it is already clear to see that he is not in Ismael’s plans and his exit looks almost certain – barring injury to Balazs Toth or Nicholas Michalski in the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, it may well just be his two-year contract that is the sticking point, and while Blackburn will allow him to depart, they will also want a decent fee for the goalkeeper.
Yet, following Bailey’s comments, it seems likely that a move is close and more concrete interest will start to pop up as we close in on deadline day.
