Middlesbrough had a superb summer transfer window and there will be a lot of confidence brewing at the Riverside Stadium over this international break.
The Teessiders kept hold of Hayden Hackney, despite interest in the midfielder throughout the last few months, while David Strelec finally became a Boro player.
Rob Edwards has won all four league games to start off his tenure in the north-east, and he will now be settling down for a weekend away from the pitch following a very busy start to the campaign.
However, there is one story that still needs a conclusion at Middlesbrough, and that involves Dan Barlaser. After the midfielder was allowed to leave the club, he looks to have found a new temporary home.

Hibernian set to sign Dan Barlaser from Middlesbrough
Derby County and Millwall were both interested in Barlaser on deadline day, but it appeared that neither side made an approach and with the 7pm cut-off, it looked as though he was going to stay at the Riverside.

However, with Scotland’s transfer window not shutting until 11pm, Hibernian were able to sneak in late and arrange a loan move, which is expected to be announced later on Tuesday, as per the Hibernian Observer.
This comes after a deal to sign Birmingham City striker Lydon Dykes on loan fell through, leaving the Scotland international still at Blues.
Barlaser could make his Hibs debut against Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership on 13 September following the international break.

Dan Barlaser was in desperate need of a move away from Teesside
The 28-year-old was targeted by the Rams back in the January transfer window, but just like this summer, they were unable to get a deal over the line.
Now, Barlaser gets an opportunity to shine in Scotland’s top flight, and he will turn out for a side fighting for a top-three finish.

The midfielder, who can play international football for Türkiye, has failed to make an appearance for Middlesbrough so far this season and he played just 23 times in the Championship in 2024/25.
His game time was going to be severely limited at the Riverside Stadium this season, and Barlaser has the chance to show off his talents at Easter Road.
