After surviving on the final day of the 2024/25 campaign, John Eustace was always going to be busy this summer. There are an abundance of Derby County transfers to look into, so here’s the full list.
When John Eustace took over at Derby County, they were in a real mess and looked destined to be relegated from the Championship.
He oversaw a brilliant turnaround with six wins in the final two months of the campaign. In the end, the Rams finished in 19th place, but just one point above the drop zone.
Given the sheer number of players in and out this summer, it’s clear Eustace wanted to shake things up. One thing’s for sure, Eustace will have no excuse if he fails with Derby this season.

Incoming Derby County transfers this summer
Derby capitalised on Luton Town’s relegation by signing Carlton Morris. He was top scorer for Luton in each of the last three seasons and has made a bright start with Derby.
On July 1, the Rams announced three quickfire signings. Danny Batth came in and bid farewell to Blackburn Rovers. Andreas Weimann also returned to Pride Park.
Since then, we saw an influx of Derby County transfers, including Rhian Brewster on a free and loan signings Owen Beck, Dion Sanderson, Bobby Clark, plus another spell for David Ozoh.
Derby County’s best XI now boasts the likes of Max Johnston and Lewis Travis, who signed from Sturm Graz and Blackburn Rovers, respectively.
Derby spent £5.8m on Patrick Agyemang, who must now battle Morris for a spot in the team after suffering an injury. On transfer deadline day, Ben Brereton Diaz arrived on loan from Southampton.

Every player that left Derby County this summer
The Rams let go of 14 squad members this summer.
In May, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing became the first to leave. He reunited with former boss Paul Warne at MK Dons, with no fee involved.
Derby made three signings after the January transfer window concluded, and all three departed at the end of their contracts. Jeff Hendrick, Kemar Roofe and Erik Pieters played just 11 minutes between them in 2024/25, with the former failing to feature at all, while third-choice goalkeeper Rohan Luthra has also left.
Elsewhere, promotion winners Tom Barkhuizen, Sonny Bradley, Tyrese Fornah and Conor Washington all left at the end of their contracts.
There were a couple of higher-profile exits for Derby County towards the end of the window. Kenzo Goudmijn returned to Holland to join Go Ahead Eagles, while fan-favourite Kane Wilson went to MK Dons.

Derby County made very little, if any money this summer from transfers. Their net spend is one of the worst in the Championship.
