Behind-the-scenes issues have plagued Sheffield Wednesday this summer, which is set to lead to several departures and a new-look Owls squad competing in the 2025/26 Championship season.
Sheffield Wednesday’s pre-season preparations have been hindered by off-the-field issues, with Dejphon Chansiri being unable to pay players and staff.
After a selection of the first team handed in their 15-day notice, due to their contracts not being fulfilled, Sheffield Wednesday have less than a week to rectify the issue, something that looks unlikely under the continued stewardship of Dejphon Chansiri.
To make matters worse, Sheffield Wednesday are currently under three separate embargoes placed on them by the EFL, meaning that players cannot be signed, on loan, or permanently.
As a result, their business regarding incomings has been non-existent.

Confirmed Sheffield Wednesday transfers in
Sheffield Wednesday’s current situation has removed their ability to bring players in for the next three transfer windows.
Whilst the Owls have not managed to bring any players in at S6, they have had the ability to offer youngsters their first professional contracts at the club.
Sheffield Wednesday youngsters Ernie Weaver, Logan Stretch and Joe Emery had all put pen to paper on their first professional contracts last week, and they have since been joined by George Brown and Rio Shipston extending their stay at the club.
Cole McGhee, Harry Evers and Denny Oliver have also joined, with the trio set to play for the U21s.

Every Sheffield Wednesday departure this summer
Departures are set to rack up for Sheffield Wednesday this summer, with Dejphon Chansiri likely to sell players to accumulate short-term funds.
Those who have already had their stays at Sheffield Wednesday drawn to an end include experienced goalkeeper Ben Hamer, Marvin Johnson, Ryo Hatsuse and Stuart Armstrong after their contracts expired. All four are yet to find their next destination in their career.
Mallik Wilks’ contract at Sheffield Wednesday also came to an end, and he has joined Super Lig outfit Pendikspor alongside former Rotherham United man Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Pol Valentin was also not retained at Sheffield Wednesday, leading to the full-back being snapped up by Preston North End. Michael Ihiekwe has also found a club after he left S6, with Steve Bruce’s Blackpool bringing him in.

The latest Sheffield Wednesday transfer rumours
Several rumours linger around Sheffield Wednesday at this moment, particularly in the departures area.
Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri’s departure at Sheffield Wednesday is all but confirmed, whilst Djeidi Gassama is set to sign for Rangers, with Dejphon Chansiri willing to agree on a cut-price deal for the French winger.
Another name likely to move on from Sheffield Wednesday is Anthony Musaba, with the Dutchman set to move on to the Turkish Super Lig.
Young star Sutura Kakay is also set to head to Southampton from Sheffield Wednesday.
If a takeover of Sheffield Wednesday is not confirmed soon, it is expected that departures will continue to top up at the club, especially with the players who have handed in their 15-day notice.
