After narrowly missing out on a play-off place in the Championship last season, Alex Neil will have high hopes for his Millwall side in 2025/26.
The Lions’ defeat to Burnley on the final day of the season ensured that they will be playing in the second tier once again once this summer has come to an end, and improvements will be needed to compete in the wide-open race for promotion in the Championship.
This year’s transfer window is slightly different to normal, and after opening on June 1 it shut for the first time on June 10 until June 16. It will then remain open until September 1, giving plenty of time for clubs to get deals done.
Millwall are aiming to unearth the new Ademola Lookman, and it would not be a surprise to see non-league stars make their way to The Den in the coming months. EFL Analysis have documented every new signing, every departure and the transfer rumours involving the Lions.
Every new signing at Millwall this summer
Neil is yet to bring in a new player this summer, and he will have to wait until the window now reopens if he is to do so.

Nevertheless, he will know the key areas where he has to improve, and he may have to focus on the striker position if he is unable to keep hold of Mihailo Ivanovic.
Every player to have left The Den in the transfer window
While Millwall are still awaiting their first signing, there has been plenty of action through the exit door with seven players departing.
Zian Flemming’s loan at Burnley was made permanent following their promotion to the Premier League, with the Clarets paying £7m for the forward, as per a report from South London Press.
Meanwhile, George Saville left at the end of his contract after his fourth stint with the Bermondsey outfit, and he is set to join Luton Town after their relegation to League One.
Aaron Connolly, Murray Wallace, Duncan Watmore and Liam Roberts are also all without a club after the Lions released their retained list. With three out of the four over 30, it is clear to see that Neil is trying to lower the age of his squad.
Shaun Hutchinson, who has praised the Millwall manager, left the club after seven years. At 34 he will be looking for somewhere to close out his playing career.
The transfer rumours involving Millwall
This could be a tough summer for the Lions, and some of their key stars will be targeted by those in the Premier League.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Ivanovic after the striker scored 12 goals in 37 Championship appearances last season.

Elsewhere, there will surely be interest in Japhet Tanganga once again after Wolves targeted him in the January transfer window. The centre-back has struggled with injuries in the past, but he was incredibly solid for Millwall in 2024/25, and he could easily make the step-up to the Premier League once again.
