Burnley and Leeds United were promoted to the Premier League after beating Sheffield United to the punch.
With both clubs locked on 94 points, Leeds and Burnley will now tussle for the Championship title in the remaining two matches.
For Scott Parker, who sealed his third promotion from the second tier on Monday, it’s been a successful shot at redemption after being sacked by Club Brugge at the start of 2023.
Parker has led Burnley to a ‘ridiculous’ defensive record this term, conceding just 15 goals in 44 matches, but in the back of his mind, he will be worried about how hard it will be to stay in the top-flight.
The gap between the Championship and Premier League is now massive, and to help him achieve the impossible, he may have one forgotten star to call upon.

Zeki Amdouni could return to Burnley this summer
In the summer of 2023, Burnley signed forward Zeki Amdouni from Swiss side Basel as Vincent Kompany armed his squad with some much-needed firepower.
The Switzerland striker did show glimpses of his talent in the top-flight but a return of five goals in 34 matches wasn’t enough to stave off relegation.
Amdouni was then loaned out to European giants Benfica last summer and the 24-year-old has since been playing Champions League football.
The Burnley loanee has appeared 41 times in all competitions, scoring eight times. Yet, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Benfica aren’t interested in triggering his £15 million purchase option.
The report claims that Amdouni hasn’t met expectations in Portugal, failing to hold onto one specific position, while only netting once in this calendar year.
It means the talented Swiss forward could return to Turf Moor this summer for another shot at Premier League football, and perhaps save them millions in the process.
Amdouni has a lot to prove at Burnley
Burnley must build on their solid defensive foundations in the transfer window, as they’re currently lacking firepower at the top end of the pitch.
Josh Brownhill is Burnley’s top scorer, and he’s a box-to-box midfielder, while their highest scoring forward is Zian Flemming with just 10 goals.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 44 | 27 | 13 | 4 | 89 | 29 | 60 | 94 | |
| 2 | 44 | 26 | 16 | 2 | 61 | 15 | 46 | 94 | |
| 3 | 45 | 28 | 7 | 10 | 62 | 35 | 27 | 89 | |
| 4 | 44 | 21 | 13 | 10 | 58 | 41 | 17 | 76 | |
| 5 | 44 | 17 | 16 | 11 | 57 | 49 | 8 | 67 |
Worryingly, the Clarets have only found the net 61 times in the Championship this term, trailing Leeds by a whopping 28 goals.
That just demonstrates how they must nail their recruitment in attacking areas while Amdouni must also step up and prove his worth.
Although some Burnley fans think he isn’t a Premier League-level striker, he will get an opportunity to play under Parker, as long as his exit isn’t sanctioned.
