All the Ipswich Town transfers completed in the 2025/26 summer window

After relegation back to the Championship, it’s not surprising we saw a number of big Ipswich Town transfers this summer.

The Tractor Boys shocked us all in 2023/24 when they were promoted from the Championship in second place. They gave it a good go in the Premier League, too.

Unfortunately, Kieran McKenna’s men just couldn’t handle the top flight and are now back in the second tier looking to be successful once more.

In our Championship preview for 2025/26, we tipped Ipswich Town to be among the promotion race. They’ve made a slow start to the season, but given the number of ins and outs at the club, that’s not surprising really.

All incoming Ipswich Town transfers this summer

It was a fairly quiet start to the summer for Ipswich Town. However, they brought in 11 new players by the end of the window.

Loan deals were struck for highly-rated Spanish forward Ivan Azon, and Ipswich beat Birmingham to the signing of Chuba Akpom. They also brought in Cedric Kipre on loan from Stade Reims and got Jens Cajuste on loan for another year.

Ashley Young joined Ipswich on a free transfer, and there’s talk of his son, Tyler Young, signing too.

Far bigger deals were completed for Sindre Walle Egeli, who is the signing of the summer according to Graeme Bailey. The £17.2m deal was the biggest fee ever paid by a Championship club.

Kasey McAteer joined from Leicester City, Azor Matusiwa signed from Rennes, and Darnell Furlong arrived from West Brom.

Ipswich also completed the most controversial deal of the summer. Marcelino Nunez swapped Norwich for Ipswich, the first player to do so since 2001.

Every Ipswich Town departure of summer transfer window

The reason Ipswich could spend so much is down to two massive sales they made. Ipswich negotiated a great deal to sell Liam Delap to Chelsea for around £30m early in the window.

Then, Omari Hutchinson joined Nottingham Forest in a record-breaking £37.5m deal. Ipswich also made money on Nathan Broadhead’s move to Wrexham, too.

There were free transfers for Axel Tuanzebe, Marcus Harness, Cameron Burgess, and Massimo Luongo, who all found new clubs this summer.

Meanwhile, Sam Morsy departed for Kuwait and Luke Woolfenden joined Coventry City, both for undisclosed fees. Ipswich also loaned out five players, including Chiedozie Ogbene to Sheffield United.

Players that left Ipswich Town this summer:

While the undisclosed fees make it hard to know for sure, we estimate a net spend of £24.6m for Ipswich. That makes them one of the top three clubs coming out of the transfer window in terms of net spends.
