Jamie Vardy decided to bring his Leicester City career to an end upon the expiration of his contract following the completion of the last campaign, as the Foxes suffered relegation to the Championship.

There has been much speculation about where the Leicester City legend will end up next after his decision to leave the club he spent so many successful seasons with.
Leicester City’s new manager Marti Cifuentes has provided his view on the Foxes’ start to the new Championship campaign after their loss to Preston North End at the weekend.
Vardy has been linked to several major clubs across the Championship and Premier League; however, it appears as if he has finally come to a decision about where he wants to see out his career.

The 38-year-old appears to be of interest to two teams that will be competing in the Champions League this season.

Celtic and Napoli are set to battle for the signature of Jamie Vardy
It has been reported by Sky Sports that Celtic and Napoli are set to battle it out for the signature of Vardy.
The sports broadcaster has taken its information from the Daily Mail, which linked Vardy to a move to Napoli as a short-term replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku.
Meanwhile, they reported that The Sun has reported that Celtic are willing to sign the veteran striker, who has been reported to have his ‘heart set’ want to keep playing until he is 40 and have a reunion with Brendan Rodgers.

Should these two reports be true, the decision for his next destination will be his choice, with two title-winning clubs from last season.
Jamie Vardy’s impact at Leicester City last season
Vardy was still a key part of the Leicester team despite his advanced age compared to other forward options, demonstrating his ability to still play at the top level.
This should see him be a key part of whatever team he joins for the upcoming campaign, with Vardy clearly being viewed as an option to battle for a starting place at both Napoli and Celtic.

Vardy managed to score nine goals for Leicester in their season last year, despite being part of a team that struggled to compete in the Premier League, as they only managed a total of 33 goals across the team in the division.
He may not be able to provide the relentless pressing or energy he had when he was younger, but his ability to find the net is a useful asset for any club he should join.
