Leicester City’s chances of losing Mads Hermansen to West Ham have changed after Fabrizio Romano update

Leicester City always knew that this was going to be a summer of change.

Marti Cifuentes wants to trim the squad and that means some faces will have to depart.

Conor Coady has left for Wrexham and Wilfred Ndidi could be joining Besiktas, while plenty of others could be heading for the exit door.

The two big assets in the side are Bilal El Khannouss and Mads Hermansen – both of whom are far too good for the Championship.

Hermansen has been of interest to West Ham United this summer and while the Foxes are keen to keep hold of him, fans have been resigned to seeing the Danish shot-stopper leave.

Fabrizio Romano reveals West Ham goalkeeper update

West Ham have been looking for a new goalkeeper this summer and Stoke City’s Viktor Johansson has also been on the Hammers’ radar.

However, it looks as if Leicester and Stoke can breathe a sigh of relief after Romano confirmed on Monday night that the Premier League side are at the ‘key stages’ of a deal to sign Botafogo ‘keeper John Victor.

He said: “West Ham are advancing to key stages of John deal with Botafogo after official bid exclusively revealed last week. John wants the move and the clubs are discussing on fee/deal structure.”

Leicester keeping Mads Hermansen is bad news for the rest of the league

Opta have already made Leicester promotion favourites and keeping Hermansen is going to be key to that success.

As far as it goes the Foxes’ squad is one of, if not, the best in the league and if there are players that impressed in the Premier League still there, that can only be a cause for concern for the other 23 teams.

Hermansen and El Khannouss star, while the return of Abdul Fatawu will also be a boost too as Leicester will hope to return to the Premier League at the first attempt.
