Leicester City will be dreaming of repeating the same outcome from their last Championship campaign.

The Foxes are back in the second tier for the second time in three seasons after a dismal Premier League campaign.

Marti Cifuentes is the man at the helm and even though Leicester are set for a possible points deduction, the overriding feeling is that they will be in the Championship promotion race.

Supercomputer predicts Leicester City will be promoted this season

Despite the noise off the pitch as club owners King Power face issues in Thailand, many believe that the Foxes have a squad capable of competing.

Conor Coady to Wrexham is the only high-profile departure so far and that has been recognised by Opta, who think Leicester will be promoted.

They’ve said that the East Midlands outfit will finish second in the Championship with Sheffield United named as the side that will win the league.

Cifuentes and Leicester would certainly take that when May 2026 rolls around.

What are Leicester City’s first five fixtures?

Promotion will be the sole aim for the Foxes and Cifuentes will need to achieve that to win fans over.

Looking at the Foxes’ first five fixtures, aside from Birmingham City at home, you would bank every single one of those ending in a win for Leicester.

Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End, Charlton Athletic and Oxford United are all expected to be involved in the relegation battle this season and picking up maximum points before any deduction is imposed could be a big win for Leicester.
