Sheffield United have just over two weeks away from their first competitive game since the Championship play-off final.
Tommy Watson’s 95th minute winner at Wembley for Sunderland will still be on the minds of many at Bramall Lane, however, with a new manager in charge in the form of Ruben Selles, the new campaign is a fresh start.
The Blades will be pushing for a top six finish once again, but the South Yorkshire outfit’s play-off record is poor and supporters will be hoping that they can push for an automatic promotion spot.
Yet, this has been a tough summer for Sheffield United with Vini Souza having left the club. Bringing in more quality is needed, and they have done that with the signing of Louie Barry on loan.
Sheffield United fans take to social media to welcome Louie Barry
It looked as though Barry was returning to Hull City, but the Tigers’ financial issues allowed the Blades to overtake them into pole position for the Aston Villa winger and he has reunited with Selles.

After injury stopped him from making a mark on the Championship last season, this is a fantastic opportunity for the 22-year-old, and Sheffield United supporters are excited to see him in red-and-white.
Another wrote: “Welcome Louie to beautiful downtown Bramall Lane.”
While a third put: “We are doing bits.”
Stockport County fans, who cheered Barry on in two different loan spells, were also delighted to see him get a move to a big club: “Mega move that is @LouieBarry6. Best of luck during your time there!”
As one more said: “Good luck Louie, go smash it.”
Louie Barry needs to hit the ground running
After excelling at Edgeley Park, Barry’s time at Hull was extremely disappointing – yet there was nothing that he could do about it.
Nevertheless, he has a point to prove this season as he is now playing for a club with promotion-winning ambitions.

He can ill-afford a slow start, and with 18 days to go until Sheffield United take to the Championship once again, he knows that he has to impress in the remaining pre-season games and training to prove to his manager that he has what it takes to be the talisman that is needed at Bramall Lane.
