Blackburn Rovers are working away in the transfer market this summer, with a number having joined the club, while a number of notable individuals have left Ewood Park.

This trend of players coming and going does not seem to be coming to an end anytime soon, as Blackburn Rovers find themselves in the middle of a transfer saga surrounding Callum Brittain.

The full-back refused to come on in their pre-season friendly with Accrington Stanley, leading to increased speculation that he is about to exit the club.

The Blackburn Rovers manager has let his opinion on the future of the right-back position be known, amid the speculation of Callum Brittain leaving Ewood Park.

As the club are busy in the transfer market, there was a belief Blackburn may dip back into it to bring in a replacement for Brittain; however, Ismael denied this.

He said: “”We have already got a right-back, so we are not in a rush at the minute. We are in a very good position. He’s a very promising player. Ryan [Alebiosu] is exactly the profile we need.”

Blackburn have already made an acquisition in Ryan Alebiosu, with the youthful full-back joining Rovers from Kortrijk.

It may indicate to the fans that the signings being made at Rovers are who Ismael wanted to bring into Ewood Park.

Who is Ryan Alebiosu?

The 23-year-old is a graduate of the Arsenal academy; however, he never played with the senior side at the London club.

While employed at Arsenal, he was sent out on loan to two different sides, Crewe Alexandra at the League One level and Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

After impressing in Scotland, Alebiosu would be of interest to Kortrijk in Belgium, joining the club in September 2023.

He would be used as a rotational player in the squad at Kortrijk across the two seasons he spent at the club; however, in his second year at the Belgian side, he was loaned out to St. Mirren, and he impressed once again in Scotland.

This impressive period earned him a move to Blackburn Rovers, and now it looks likely he will have a starring role for Rovers this season as Brittain is set to leave the club.
