West Brom have clear transfer plan once Tom Fellows leaves, it will delight Tony Mowbray

EFL Analysis can reveal that West Brom expect attacker Tom Fellows to depart the Hawthorns this summer amid strong interest from Everton.

West Brom’s hopes of reaching the Premier League via the play-offs were dealt a huge blow on Friday as the Baggies lost 2-0 to divisional rivals Coventry City.

It was a disappointing performance from Tony Mowbray’s men, who failed to register a single shot on target, even with the attacking threat of Tom Fellows.

The 21-year-old is currently leading the Championship for assists with 13, including two goals, and the Englishman has attracted interest from several clubs.

Mowbray has tipped Fellows for the Premier League, and rightfully so, with one club now confident of sealing a deal for the talented youngster.

West Brom expect Tom Fellows to leave this summer

Everton tried to sign Fellows in January, but claims that the Toffees had agreed a £10 million deal with the winger were far-fetched.

That being said, David Moyes remains keen on making the West Brom star one of his first additions this summer, and speaking exclusively to EFL Analysis, transfer expert Graeme Bailey suggests it is ‘likely’ that he moves to Merseyside.

“The expectation at West Brom is that Fellows will go, if they get promoted there is a chance he stays but PSR wise – the sale would really help,” Bailey said.

“Fellows is such a talent, I really believe people who don’t watch the Championship don’t realise who good he is.

“He came ever so close to joining Everton and David Moyes in the January and from what I am told he will likely move to Goodison/Bramley Dock this summer.”

West Brom supporters will be sad to see Fellows leave but they’ll be happy to know that Mowbray will be handed most of the money to flesh out his squad.

“With Fellows gone, I do expect Tony Mowbray to be entrusted with most of that money to help build the squad,” he added.

Fellows West Brom stats

Fellows has offered West Brom a blend of tenacity, creativity and flair from wide areas, becoming a vital part of their charge towards the play-offs.

Lee Hendrie offered a damning assessment of West Brom’s chances after the defeat to Coventry and being six points behind sixth place with three matches is too big of a mountain to climb.

Mowbray’s troops have capitulated at the wrong time, winning one of their last seven matches, while Fellows has delivered consistent attacking output throughout.

The above metrics paint the picture of someone who has been influential for his side, and while fans would have been hoping to see him starring in the Premier League at West Brom, it’s looking like his next destination is working under Moyes at Everton.
