Will Still’s admission on Tyler Dibling’s Southampton future amid Everton transfer saga

Southampton winger Tyler Dibling has been linked with a move to the Premier League all summer, with Everton now being the favourites in the race to sign him.

The Saints have been in strong discussions with Everton about the future of the player after the Toffees made an offer for Dibling.

However, Southampton rejected Everton’s second bid and the Saints have offered the Premier League a ‘counter offer’ which they are said to be happy to accept once the terms are met.

The saga around the future of Tyler Dibling and whether he will be leaving Southampton would not have helped their preparations for their dramatic opening day victory over Wrexham, nor for their upcoming match with Ipswich Town.

Will Still has now made an admission about the future of the winger at Southampton.

Will Still happy to reintegrate Tyler Dibling

As reported by the Southern Daily Echo, Will Still is said to be happy to have Tyler Dibling join his squad, training and being part of the matchday team.

Still admitted that the future of the winger does lie ultimately with Dibling, and if he wants to go once an offer is accepted, then so be it.

The manager wants Dibling to be in the correct headspace before returning to action with the Saints, but he would welcome him back, with Still believing him to be part of their plans after September 1.

He said: “I think as long as he’s at the football club, he’ll be involved. I think we’ve shown it with Matty Fernandes.

“But we just need to make sure that he’s getting the right headspace and committed to what we’re doing.

“If that’s the case, over the next couple of days, if he wants to be a part of it and he wants to be involved, then he will be. But ultimately, it’s pretty much down to him.”

Southampton’s separate training group

There are three players not currently training with the Southampton first team as they wait to decide their futures at the club, with Mateus Fernandes part of Still’s set-up despite interest from West Ham.

Joe Aribo and Sam Edozie are also away from the first team currently as they make a decision on their futures at St Mary’s, with the winger hoping he can complete a move to Belgium, where he spent last season on loan.

The pair did not feature in the behind-the-scenes footage of Southampton’s victory over Wrexham last weekend, and it is unlikely they will be part of any documentary material until they are back with Still’s squad.
