Sheffield Wednesday continue to defy the odds and prove their doubters wrong, this time gaining their first point of the season with a draw away at Wrexham.
Going into the game, both sides were still looking for their first victory of the league campaign, and that search will go on despite Wrexham taking a two-goal lead into half-time thanks to a brace from new signing Kieffer Moore.
However, a spirited fightback in the second half saw Sheffield Wednesday legend Barry Bannan give the Owls hope before youngster Bailey Cadamarteri levelled the score.
In the end, Henrik Pedersen’s side could have clinched all three points when Charlie McNeill missed a golden opportunity late on, but if we’ve learned one thing here, it’s that Sheffield Wednesday are not going down without a fight this season.

Neil Mellor impressed by Sheffield Wednesday supporters at Racecourse Ground
A point away from home is never to be sniffed at, though, and Owls fans will travel home from North East Wales in high spirits after what they’ve seen this weekend.
Commenting on his experience at the game, Sky Sports pundit and former Owls striker Neil Mellor was full of praise for the supporters who made the trip.
He tweeted: “Sheffield Wednesday fans truly magnificent today. Always travel well. Non-stop singing all game. Losing 2-0 and kept going and the team responded to get a point. Top class away support.”
Before the game, Sheffield Wednesday fans had protest action planned against Dejphon Chansiri, while Wrexham also did their part to bring attention to the cause.
As chants of “We don’t care about Dejphon…” rang out around the Racecourse after the full-time whistle, it’s clear to see those supporters from S6 are not going to let their rogue chairman ruin this great football club, and the world of football is most certainly behind them now.

Siege mentality is key for Sheffield Wednesday now
Sheffield Wednesday players have been told to adopt a siege mentality to combat what is going on behind the scenes at Hillsborough. It’s abundantly clear to see that the players, staff, and fans are enjoying a strong connection in the face of great adversity here.
While the results might not be perfect, and may continue to be tough to come by for the rest of the season, as long as the players keep giving 100% as they are right now, the fans will never turn on them or Pedersen.
After the game, Pedersen said: “The big picture is that I’m very, very proud. After we conceded we struggled so we changed things and were able to put in a strong defensive performance and helped us to a great second half.
“We had nearly 60% of possession in the second half and created a lot. I really think the boys showed what they are standing for. They were 2-0 down but they stayed together, the belief was there. How they expressed themselves in a difficult period and trust they showed, it was impressive.
“It showed our culture is strong and our players are ready to do everything for our club.”
Meanwhile, as we saw at the Racecourse, rival fans are even backing Wednesday to come through this mess. There was that wonderful moment in the 61st minute today where both Wrexham and Owls fans stood in unison and sang in defiance against the owner behind the mess.
This has been one of the most painful and tragic stories in the EFL this summer, but there is a real resilience and poignancy rising out of this young Sheffield Wednesday squad which is a joy to behold amid all the misery.
