£28.7m figure sees Tom Brady’s Birmingham City juggernaut outperform Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham

Birmingham City have completely dominated League One on the field and are now leading the way off it in one area.

The Blues suffered relegation from the Championship in 2023/24, prompting Tom Brady to make a promise to Birmingham City.

The former NFL star was spot-on with what he said, as the Midlands outfit are now in with a real chance of making League One history.

Birmingham broke a record when they beat Bristol Rovers earlier this week while further extending their lead at the top of the third tier.

The title is heading to St Andrew’s, and with plenty of football still to play, Chris Davies’ men are on course to break the record for most points in a League One campaign, which Wolverhampton Wanderers set in 2013/14.

For much of 2024/25, it has been Wrexham who have been Birmingham’s closest challengers, but the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned club haven’t really been able to come close to matching them on the field, or off.

Birmingham City revenue increased by 45 percent after accounts released

Reynolds, McElhenney, and Brady have formed a friendly rivalry now that Wrexham and Birmingham are competing in the same division.

In turn, the latter is no doubt thrilled to see his side outperform his rivals in one area following the release of Birmingham’s 2023/24 accounts

As confirmed by their club’s official website this week, the Welsh club posted a £26.725m turnover for the 2023/24 season.

Now, on April 3, Brady’s team have released their accounts, and it’s been confirmed that their revenue saw an increase of 45 percent, up to £28.7m – the most of any League One team whose accounts have been released so far.

Granted, Birmingham were in the Championship last season, but it’s still an impressive number to put up.

Birmingham City set for a busy 2025 summer transfer window

With promotion basically confirmed, the Blues have begun to turn their attention toward the transfer market.

EFL Anyalysis recently gained an insight into Birmingham’s summer transfer plans, with the club expected to be ‘one of the most aggressive sides in England’.

Such is the impressive nature of the club; several sides in the second tier are already thought to be fearful of Brady and co. before they have even arrived back in the Championship.

It’s going to be an exciting summer for fans, which will hopefully lead to a much-improved 2025/26 showing.
