Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl’s recent comments to the media have stirred up controversy amongst the fanbase.
The current state of Sheffield Wednesday sees German boss Danny Rohl currently in the coaching role, having steered the club away from relegation in the 2023/24 season, to then finishing 12th in the following campaign, but it now appears that his tenure could be coming to its end.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl has made it rather clear, whilst speaking semantically, that Dejphon Chansiri is aware of his ambitions, which in other words looks as though he is more likely than not to move away from the club in due course.
Rohl has spoken about his Sheffield Wednesday tenure and future plans, having said: “I always want to work with the best players and compete with the best coaches. The Bundesliga is, of course, a top choice. After all, I grew up with the Bundesliga. But the Premier League is also a dream. I’m currently very excited to see what happens this summer,” a clear sign that he is very much putting himself in the shop window.
Following Rohl’s comments, the Sheffield Wednesday fanbase has had their say on the situation, in which they all agree on one thing.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl told to be ‘quiet’ amid recent media comments
It is safe to say that Sheffield Wednesday fans haven’t taken too fondly to Rohl’s recent comments in the media due to the fact that it could be argued to be slightly disrespectful to the Owls fanbase that welcomed him into the club.
One fan took to social media to suggest: “He’s burning his bridges. As much as I admire him as a coach, he should just be quiet until something is done. It’s not good for him to be doing this. He’s basically doing a self-PR tour in Germany to raise his profile for the next Bundesliga job. It’s poor form.”
This was followed up by another supporter, who stated that he ‘clearly he wants gone’, and that they should immediately ‘get somebody in who wants the job so we can build for next season’
Another fan joined in on suggesting that Rohl was wrong to make such comments, but still kept his focus on what he believes to be the root of the problems. They said: “I think it’s fair mate to say Danny is in the wrong without being a Chansiri fan who also has been in the wrong for many many things. Doesn’t have to be one or the other in my opinion.”
Another comment also backed up this claim from one fan, who suggested that Sheffield Wednesday fans must not ‘lose sight of the biggest issue’ at the club, which he believes to be the owner.

Dejphon Chansiri must ensure that Danny Rohl future concerns don’t loom over summer
It is fairly unlikely at this stage that Rohl will still be involved in the Sheffield Wednesday set-up based on his recent comments, but how long it could take for him to depart the club remains a mystery.
Rohl is still under contract at Sheffield Wednesday, so the last thing that the Owls need is to keep hold of a manager who likely wants out of the club in the current circumstances.
There needs to be a proactive decision made by Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri at this stage, either allow Rohl to have the demands he needs to stay at the club, if there is the possibility for that, or try and move him on as soon as possible to ensure that any preparations for the club in the summer are not hindered.
