Championship Swansea City could capitalise on Lincoln City’s 11th-placed finish in League One to poach one of the third tier’s best players.
After head coach Alan Sheehan was appointed following Luke Williams’ sacking, Swansea City ended their Championship campaign on an excellent run of form.
From their final five second tier outings, the Swans managed to pick up ten points from a possible 15 on offer, with their only defeat in those five games coming against play-off chasing Millwall at The Den.
In the boardroom, Real Madrid legend Luka Modric has joined Swansea as a minority shareholder, signifying their lofty future ambitions.
As the transfer window opens, Swansea supporters will hope those aspirations can be matched in the market, and one EFL expert has tipped a “standout” third tier star to be snapped up by the Swans this summer.

EFL expert tips Lincoln City ace Ethan Erhahon for Swansea City transfer
With Lincoln City’s campaign ending in a disappointing 11th-placed finish, transfer speculation has been rife regarding one of their top talents, Ethan Erhahon.
EFL Analysis exclusively revealed in May that a host of clubs are chasing Erhahon, including Derby County and Blackburn Rovers, following his impressive campaign for the Imps.
As a result of the defensive midfielder’s stellar third tier season, and Swansea’s intentions to achieve a play-off place next season, EFL expert George Elek has tipped the Welsh outfit to pursue the 24-year-old Scotsman.
EFL expert Elek, of the Not The Top 20 podcast, told Dragon Sports on Erhahon: “He’s competent on the ball, but his best qualities are in terms of breaking up play, and winning the ball back and recycling it effectively,
“He’s been a standout player in League One over the last couple of seasons in terms of doing that,
“Since coming to Lincoln from north of the border a couple of seasons ago, he’s really impressed consistently there, he’s been a big part of Michael Skubala’s team, who have been on the fringes of the play-offs for the last couple of seasons.
“He definitely is deserving of his Championship move, if Swansea were able to get him.
“I think we’ll see Sheehan look to use the ball and be a bit more direct with it, and look to dominate the game, still dominate the ball,
“But also have an understanding that having a player like Erhahon, who can sit at the base of midfield and win the ball back, and distribute it, to those further forward, might be the best way to go about things.
“So, I think he’s an interesting proposition.”
Erhahon has been dubbed as one of the best players in League One, and as a result of his outstanding numbers this season, would certainly be capable of making the step up to Championship standard.

Ethan Erhahon’s stats for Lincoln City in 24/25 League One
Erhahon often goes under the radar at Lincoln City because of his lack of goal contributions, but the all-action midfielder’s underlying stats prove why the host of EFL clubs are interested in him.
In the 24/25 League One season, Erhahon ranked in the top two percent of third tier midfielders for interceptions won (56) as well as duel win rate (63.5%).
Ethan Erhahon in 24/25 League One
Games played – 31
Pass accuracy – 83%
Duels won – 139
Recoveries – 179
In addition, his competent ability in possession and defensive awareness was evident throughout the campaign.
As Elek explained, Swansea could attempt to become more direct next season in Sheehan’s first full season at the helm, compared to when Williams was in charge, and Erhahon would fulfil that style of play perfectly at the base of midfield.
