Coventry City beat Derby County 5-3 in a thrilling eight-goal Championship affair.
Coventry City ran out victorious in a dramatic eight-goal thriller against Derby County on Saturday afternoon.
Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard faced his former employers, and his Coventry side took an early lead thanks to Bobby Thomas.

Derby took the lead early in the second half before three Coventry goals completed the comeback that Lampard labelled as one of his favourite games as Sky Blues boss.

Frank Lampard praises Coventry City players after 5-3 win vs Derby County
Mere months ago, Lampard was frustrated at Derby with the state of the Pride Park pitch following defeat back in March.
Lampard and his side ended Coventry’s Pride Park hoodoo on Saturday afternoon courtesy of their dramatic victory.
Coventry showed their fighting spirit to clinch all three points and get their first Championship win of the season on the board after their goalless draw with Hull City on opening weekend.
After the win over Derby, Lampard explained that Coventry’s “quality” was the decisive factor in their comeback.
Lampard told BBC Sport: “If it’s not my favourite game since I’ve been here then it’s right up there because of the character and quality.
“We kept playing and kept pushing and showed belief.
“We won at a place a lot of people are going to find really tough. We were really sharp against a back five that don’t give you any space.
“I’m just really pleased with the players. They have to have the belief at 3-2 down. An outstanding game from us.
“We scored a couple of real quality goals and I think that quality from us was the difference. The players were fantastic.”

Milan van Ewijk was most crucial for Coventry City vs Derby County
Despite the goals being shared around the Coventry squad, right-back Milan van Ewijk was the Sky Blues’ player-of-the-match for his impressive outing.
Van Ewijk provided assists for Ephron Mason-Clarke and Victor Torp to cement their comeback win.

After reports emerged earlier in the window that German top flight outfit Wolfsburg want to sign van Ewijk, his impressive outing against the Rams could spell trouble for the Sky Blues in their attempt to retain the Dutchman.
