Hull City have made some encouraging progress in the transfer window in recent days, with several players arriving at the MKM Stadium.
As we know, Hull were hit with a three-window transfer ban at the start of July, something that severely impacted their plans.
Fortunately, the club have worked around not being able to sign players for fees, and earlier this week, the EFL removed Hull’s salary cap.
This opened the door for further signings to join the club, with Akin Famewo joining from Sheffield Wednesday and Joel Ndala arriving on loan from Manchester City.
The good news then continued on Thursday as John Lundstram completed his loan move from Trabzonspor, with former player Ozan Tufan playing his part.

Ozan Tufan ‘spoke so highly’ of Hull City to John Lundstram
Hull showed an interest in Lundstram earlier in July, and now the Tigers are delighted to get a transfer over the line.
The 31-year-old was once a crucial part of Chris Wilder’s squad at Sheffield United, scoring five times in 34 Premier League appearances during the 2019/20 campaign.
The former Rangers man has since been playing his football out in Turkey alongside former Hull midfielder Ozan Tufan, who ‘spoke so highly’ about his time at the MKM Stadium after Lundstram told him about his potential transfer.
“I told Ozan (Tufan) I might be coming to Hull; he was really happy for me and spoke so highly of the club,” Lundstram said via Hull’s official website.
“The impression the manager has given me, the way John spoke about the team and how the manager wants to play has really ignited something in me.”
An energetic and tenacious midfielder, Lundstram will add physicality and aggression to an engine room that needs equipping for the Championship.
How Hull City could line up in 2025/26
A disastrous summer transfer window is turning into a decent one for Hull, and following a 100% record in pre-season, there is confidence that Sergej Jakirovic can work miracles.
The signing of Lundstram, albeit on loan, shows their ambition to pull away from a relegation scrap and push towards mid table.
Currently, the most pressing problem in their squad is a lack of strikers. Kyle Joseph has led the line during pre-season, but the youngster needs support, and that could come in the shape of Oli McBurnie.
Hull are confident of landing McBurnie ahead of Sheffield United and Ipswich Town. The 29-year-old would be an unbelievable coup and would slot perfectly into the manager’s system.

With star wingers Mohamed Belloumi and Liam Millar set to return and the possibility of McBurnie signing, here’s how Hull could line up in 2025/26.
