Johannes Hoff Thorup could be back coaching in England very soon as talks take place with QPR, but EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal that they are not the only club in the mix for his services.
After being hired by Norwich City last summer, there were high hopes that Johannes Hoff Thorup could develop an exciting and, ultimately, successful project at Carrow Road.
However, after a disappointing campaign saw the Canaries heading for midtable obscurity rather than the Championship play-offs, the decision was made to part ways with Thorup.
We were first to break the news that Norwich were considering letting Thorup go after that heavy defeat to Portsmouth in April, and now, EFL Analysis has another exclusive story regarding the Danish manager and what his next job could be.

Johannes Hoff Thorup is assessing his options amid QPR link
Speaking to our Chief Football Correspondent, Graeme Bailey, about the links between Thorup and the top job at QPR, we have confirmation that talks have indeed taken place.
It is said QPR appreciate Thorup’s ideas and footballing philosophy, which are in keeping with the way the club want to operate. To this extent, Thorup is seen as a good fit for QPR, in theory, at least.
As for Thorup himself, we are told he is currently assessing all his options, of which there could be a fair few.
There are thought to be clubs across Europe who could become interesting to Thorup this summer, but we believe the man himself is very keen to have another chance to manage in England.

What happened to Johannes Hoff Thorup at Norwich City?
Obviously, given the talent Thorup had at his disposal at Norwich, a 13th place finish is not good enough.
But, a recent clip emerged showing the kind of poor attitude and mentality Norwich players displayed in the closing stages of the season, and it’s safe to say fans are not happy with what they saw.

Thorup himself spoke openly on the miscommunication at the club, too. It sounds like he was instructed to build for the future, before the Norwich hierarchy then decided they wanted to be in the play-offs. By that point, it was too late.
It was an odd situation, with Ben Knapper’s plan for Thorup clearly going awry. The Canaries are still looking for their next manager, with Jack Wilshere currently in temporary charge.
That’s a complicated matter, too. It was thought Wilshere had the job in the bag, before those at the top changed their mind recently, leaving the young coach now set for the exit door entirely.
