Leeds United supporters took to social media after their win 6-0 against Stoke City all but confirmed their place back in the Premier League for next season.

Leeds by name and leaders by nature, Daniel Farke’s side confirmed their promotion from the Championship back into the Premier League on Easter Monday, following their win against Stoke City.

Forward Joel Piroe scorched the Elland Road turf with a 20-minute hat-trick, to send the Leeds faithful into utter jubilation as their return to the top flight was confirmed after a two-season absence.

Piroe ended his barren run in front of goal with an emphatic hat-trick, the first Leeds hat-trick since Jack Harrison’s in January 2022, to confirm their anticipated Premier League return.

Junior Firpo compiled Stoke’s misery, and Leeds’ sheer joy, with a fourth goal before Piroe netted his fourth minutes before the interval to send his team in five to the good.

Wilfried Gnonto added another just shy of the hour-mark to send Leeds supporters further into dreamland.

Leeds United fans rejoice after all but earning Premier League promotion

Farke’s side were beaten last season by recently-relegated Southampton in the Championship play-offs Wembley finale.

Fast forward almost 12 months, and Leeds have gone one better this time around, confirmed their automatic promotion place ahead of the eagerly anticipated late kick-off between Burnley and Sheffield United.

Promotion was in touching distance for Leeds before the Potters clash, and Piroe’s first-half display made certain of that.

As the champagne corks were popped, Leeds supporters took to social media to rejoice in their top flight return after reaching the Championship table summit.

One Leeds fan said: “Not a bad time to re-find his goal scoring form!”, as another added: “I love my club, keep scoring more goals!”.

“Announce promotion” another quipped, as a fellow fan said: “What a team, I’m so emotional right now”.

One Whites fan added: “Wow, unbelievable half of football, completely blown them away, we are going up. MOT. I love this club”.

Another Leeds supporter stated: “Whoa what a performance today! Get it in, Leeds!” as another added: “Welcome back to EPL Leeds United”.

One fan said: “This is a dream”, as another agreed: “Welcome back to premier league football.”

Joel Piroe’s exceptional record against Stoke City this season

Piroe’s magical afternoon against Stoke broke a litany of Leeds records in a fitting moment for the forward’s campaign after the Dutchman hit his sixth strike against the Potters this season.

Piroe scored the fastest ever Leeds United league hat-trick in the club’s 106-year history after his 20-minute goal rout. Piroe also became the first ever Leeds star to score four goals in the first half of a competitive game.

Leeds’ drumming of Stoke was eerily similar to one of Marcelo Bielsa’s greatest victories in the Whites’ dugout. In a fitting tribute to the club legend, they emulated Bielsa’s words to repeat Premier League promotion.

Farke’s side appeared to be crumbling under the pressure earlier in the month, but given the rollercoaster ride that is Championship football, Leeds soared back to the summit to cement Premier League status once more. Falling apart, no longer.
