Miron Muslic enjoyed a strong start to life in England with Plymouth Argyle, and while he was not able to rescue his club from relegation, the Pilgrims did come closer to survival than first expected.
The Pilgrims’ relegation to League One was confirmed on the final day of the 2024/25 season, although they were all but down following Luton Town’s 1-0 win over Coventry City in gameweek 45 and now full focus for the Devonshire outfit is on the summer transfer window.

Plymouth have a new head of football operations as David Fox made the switch from Leicester City back to Home Park, six years after he left the club as a player. However, more work is needed off the field to ensure that they return to the Championship.
Despite this, Muslic’s Argyle future is uncertain, and one Championship club may make a move for the 42-year-old in the next few weeks as they seek a replacement following the dismissal of their permanent manager in 12 months.

Hull City target Miron Muslic, he’s now the favourite for the vacancy
Hull City surprisingly sacked Ruben Selles on Thursday evening, even though he kept the Tigers in the Championship on the final day of the campaign, and Acun Ilicali is looking for his fourth manager in just a year.

However, they may quickly end their hunt for a new boss if they are able to secure the services of Muslic, who is the new favourite to take charge at the MKM Stadium, with Darren Witcoop stating that they are ‘keen to appoint’ him.
Emre Belozoglu appears to be out of the running for the vacancy, while ex-Cardiff City head coach, Erol Bulut, was also considered. However, it is the Argyle manager who will be targeted in the coming days by Hull.
Will Still is another target of the Tigers, but they face competition from Southampton for him as clubs begin to prepare for the summer transfer window.

Hull City cannot be as ruthless with their next manager as they have been in the past
After such a dramatic drop off from the 2023/24 campaign, when they finished 7th, to 2024/25, Hull now need to find a manager that can build for a new era. But they must be given time to be able to do this as both Liam Rosenior and Selles were not previously.
Miron Muslic is an extremely exciting figure, and the belief that he gave back to Plymouth after a tough start to the season under Wayne Rooney. While he was not able to rescue Argyle, he closed the gap to their rivals and finished ahead of Cardiff.

Losing the former Cercle Brugge manager would be tough to take for the Pilgrims and their plans for the summer would be hit hard, but if a move is to happen, they will want it to come sooner rather than later.
Nevertheless, Muslic himself has a huge decision to make if Hull do come calling, and supporters will be waiting with bated breath if an approach is made.
