Birmingham City are set to announce their retained list for the 2025/26 season, while there are a couple of players who could leave in 12 months’ time.

The Blues will lose a total of six players in the next month or so.

Birmingham City made four loan signings in 2024/25, all of whom see their deals expire on May 31, 2025.

However, Alfons Sampsted had an option to buy clause in his transfer, which is expected to be made permanent.

Chris Davies confirmed recently, as per Birmingham Live: “He is a loan with an obligation and we are bringing him here permanently after that finishes.”

Elsewhere, Grant Hanley and Myung-jae Lee’s contracts at St Andrew’s are currently due to expire on June 30, 2025.

Birmingham City players out of contract in 2026

EFL clubs must confirm contract plans with players by May 17, giving the Blues less than a week to inform Hanley and Myung-jae Lee if they will be released or offered new deals.

Once that deadline passes, attention will turn toward next season and the players out of contract in 2026.

Birmingham are signing Phil Neumann on a free after agreeing a pre-contract with the Hannover 96 star in January.

And that could potentially happen to two of their stars next year if foreign clubs want to make an approach.

Alternatively, they could simply just not be offered new deals in the next year and depart for nothing.

As per Transfermarkt, those players are Keshi Anderson and Bradley Mayo.

Will Keshi Anderson and Bradley Mayo sign new Birmingham City contracts

The 20-year-old goalkeeper last signed a contract with Birmingham back in June 2024.

At the time, Mayo spoke of being ‘really confident’ with Chris Davies’ style of play after lining out at U21 level, as per Birmingham Live.

The shot-stopper is yet to make a senior appearance for the Midlands club and news of an extension beyond next year hasn’t emerged.

As for Anderson, he scored nine and assisted eight in 48 matches across all competitions in 2024/25.

He last signed an extension on October 9, 2024, with no details of a new contract emerging yet.
