Michael O’Neill has named his Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, naming several EFL and Premier League stars within it.
There is a hope that Northern Ireland can qualify for their first World Cup since 1986, when they were involved in the competition hosted in Mexico, with it being remembered for Diego Maradona leading Argentina to victory.
Former Stoke City manager Michael O’Neill will turn to several EFL stars to help him achieve this aim with Northern Ireland.
Upon the announcement of his squad for the upcoming fixtures away in Luxembourg and Germany, O’Neill has spoken about one EFL star that will soon be a Premier League star.
Michael O’Neill believes Isaac Price will soon be a Premier League star
As reported by the Belfast Telegraph after O’Neill announced his squad for the World Cup qualifiers with Northern Ireland, he believes Isaac Price will be a Premier League star.
West Brom fans have got to enjoy Price this season in the Championship, with the Northern Ireland international being the game winner in both victories for the Baggies so far in the Championship.
Price scored two goals in West Brom’s victory over Wrexham, with the whole squad performing superbly.
O’Neill said: “He’s arriving in the box, he’s scoring from outside the box. He gives you great athleticism as well. His versatility is a good thing to have.
“I think that there’s no better thing than a player that can change a game and change key moments in a game, and Isaac’s doing that on a consistent basis. That’s going to make him very much in the eyeline of a lot of clubs.
“He’ll believe that he’s going to a club that can get promotion to the Premier League.
“I believe he is a Premier League player, and the most important thing is that he keeps playing the way he is.”
