The summer window has seen some impressive business completed by the Canaries, and their latest imminent arrival will bolster their prospects significantly for next season.
Norwich City have shown their rivals for the 2025/26 Championship campaign that they mean serious business for next season.
Former Bristol City head coach Liam Manning was appointed by Norwich this summer to spearhead the club’s top-six charge next season.
In terms of the playing squad, the summer transfer window has seen some impressive business completed by the Canaries hierarchy, which has highlighted their intent for next term.
As the window continues, Norwich are now set to bring another impressive acquisition through the doors at Carrow Road, to further cement their likelihood for a play-off place in the coming campaign.

Norwich City set to sign goalkeeper Vladan Kovacevic for £2m
Norwich’s ‘statement of intent’ this summer in Manning’s first month in charge has cemented the Canaries as obvious early contenders for a top-six finish next season.
In addition to the former Robins boss, Norwich’s incomings and outgoings have highlighted the club’s intent.
Norwich signed Harry Darling despite Rangers’ interest in the former Swansea City star, and the Canaries signed Jacob Wright permanently following his impressive loan spell last season.
After Angus Gunn left Norwich this summer to become a Championship free agent, the club signed Daniel Grimshaw as Gunn’s replacement, but now the Canaries are poised to add to their shot-stopping ranks with Sporting Lisbon’s Vladan Kovacevic.
Norwich have been interested in Kovacevic throughout June, and now are set to complete the signing of the Bosnian in the coming days.
The PinkUn reports that the imminent new number one will join in an “agreement worth an initial £2m plus future bonuses.”
Not only does this constitute a new direction for the Canaries’ goalkeeping ranks, but the acquisition of Kovacevic comes for a fraction of the price that the club shelled out for Gunn in 2021.

Vladan Kovacevic transfer fee compared to Angus Gunn’s 2021 Southampton transfer
Norwich re-signed club academy product Gunn from Southampton in 2021, in a move that The Athletic reported to be around the £5m mark.
The Athletic outlined: “It’s believed the Canaries will pay an initial fee in the region of £5 million, with the first instalment being £2.5 million.
“Southampton hope to earn around £7 million in total dependent on certain clauses being met.”
Following the Canaries’ relegation from the top flight in 2022, Gunn cemented himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, but endured a poor campaign between the sticks in 2024/25.
The Scottish international kept only seven clean sheets in his 35 Championship outings last season, conceding 42 goals from 127 shots faced.
| Statistic | Angus Gunn in 24/25 | Vladan Kovacevic in 24/25 |
| Games played | 35 | 19 |
| Goals conceded | 42 | 14 |
| Clean sheets | 7 | 3 |
Kovacevic also endured a lacklustre season in 2024/25, beginning at Sporting and then being loaned out to Legia Warsaw in the January window.
For both clubs combined, Kovacevic kept three clean sheets from 19 appearances, conceding 14 goals in the process.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim praised Kovacevic during their time together at the Portuguese giants, and the Canaries faithful will be hoping that his appraisal comes to fruition during Norwich’s top-six push next season.
