It has not been the start to the season that Wrexham supporters would have expected.
After five games, the Red Dragons are languishing just above the relegation zone, and frustrations are building at the Racecourse Ground.

The Welsh club were beaten 3-1 by QPR on Saturday, with Richard Kone stealing the show for the Rs and a positive result is needed against Norwich City at Carrow Road this weekend.
However, for Phil Parkinson, this game feels as though it could be make or break and EFL Analysis has an update of where his future lies if a defeat does occur in Norfolk.

How Phil Parkinson’s future looks as Wrexham prepare for Norwich City
After winning three successive promotions, many may have thought that Parkinson’s position was relatively secure. However, Wrexham are ambitious and they will not stand for failure it seems.

Our Chief Football Correspondent has exclusively told EFL Analysis what the future looks like for the former Bradford City boss. He said: “There is pressure. Wrexham are doing their due diligence on things, and Phil Parkinson knows the pressure is on.
“The squad he’s assembled isn’t necessarily a promotion squad but it’s not a bottom six squad either. The expectation levels are there unfortunately, so Parkinson’s created this monster but can he keep it tamed? I’m not so sure he can and the pressure is on him massively.
“A big defeat this weekend and I’m not sure how long he’s got left, I’ll be honest. Wrexham are aware there’s no room for sentiment in football, even for Phil Parkinson. I’m sure he will end up with a statue outside the Racecourse for what he’s done for them, but can he take them to that next level? That’s the question. It’s not looking good.
“The pressure really is on and the hierarchy at Wrexham are assessing things and as we know with Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds, they’ve been very sensible with the way they’ve done things. They always lean on the footballing brains within the club and there’s a few of them there.
“So they know the lie of the land and so does Phil Parkinson. He’s not naïve enough to think he’s got enough credit in the bank. Wrexham cannot afford to go down this year and it’s simple as that.”
Phil Parkinson must learn from QPR example
QPR had a very good summer transfer window, despite not splashing the cash in the same way that Wrexham did, and this will be alarming for the Red Dragons after their defeat at the weekend.
Parkinson has much to learn from established Championship clubs, and Graeme Bailey continued to explain this: “He’s got a vote of confidence for now, but he can’t afford many more huge defeats. That QPR defeat was a real body blow. That was a six-pointer.

“You look at how QPR recruited this summer, with Rumarn Burrell from Burton and Richard Kone of course… Wrexham knew all about him and they turned their noses up and spent £10m on Nathan Broadhead instead. They could have had Kone for a fraction of the price. It was staggeringly strange recruitment at times. That’s not necessarily Parkinson’s fault as such but he has to deal with it.
“A big defeat to Norwich this weekend would put him under massive pressure even more. It’s not necessarily that he only has one game left to save his job, but it will all come down to the performance.”
