QPR are still preparing for the arrival of Julien Stephan at Loftus Road, but work on the squad has continued in the background.
Supporters were delighted when the R’s handed Jimmy Dunne a new deal, with the defender committing himself to the West London outfit despite Sheffield United showing increased interest in the 27-year-old.
It’s been 10 years since QPR were last in the Premier League, and there is a great desire for the Hoops to end their extended Championship stay. But for that to happen, new faces are needed.
However, there is another new departure at Loftus Road, with Lucas Andersen leaving the club after a year-and-a-half in the Championship at the end of his contract.
QPR supporters react as Lucas Andersen’s departure is confirmed
Andersen played 51 times for QPR after joining on a free transfer from Danish club Aalborg in February 2024, but he will now leave West London for pastures new.

Supporters have taken to social media and sent the attacking midfielder their warmest wishes after a decent showing in blue-and-white over the course of the last 16 months.
Another R’s fan wrote: “Sad to see him leave. Good player at this level.”
While a third put: “Great guy. Correct decision, but what a man.”
“It is always hard to see good people go,” a fifth QPR fan said.
As a sixth simply wrote: “Lovely footballer and even better character… All the best Lucas.”
It was the correct time to move on from Lucas Andersen
While there is obvious disappointment to be losing a player with as much desire as Andersen, QPR need to up their levels next season and move on from those who are not going to be difference makers.
At 30, the Danish midfielder’s experience was a useful quality but he struggled to maintain consistency and was unable to keep hold of his place in the starting XI.
Nevertheless, there is no doubt that he made an impact in his short time at Loftus Road, and the first three months of his stay with the R’s was one that supporters will not forget.
