Sheffield United supporters have reacted to Hull City’s Oli McBurnie transfer announcement as several make their feelings known about the forward.
Following a long-winded transfer battle amongst several Championship clubs, Hull City have won the race to sign Oli McBurnie.
Sheffield United were keen on McBurnie, as were Swansea City, whilst Ipswich Town also showed interest in the Scotsman.
However, a bumper deal offered by Hull City was enough for McBurnie to sign the dotted line.
Following a stint at Las Palmas in La Liga, where his side unfortunately suffered relegation, the former Blades and Swans man was keen on a Championship return, and a reunion with John Lundstram and John Egan at the MKM Stadium swung in his favour.
After the signing was confirmed, Hull City noted the interest that McBurnie had from other clubs in their announcement video, which has since riled up a reaction from Sheffield United supporters.

How Sheffield United fans reacted to Hull City’s Oli McBurnie announcement
Hull City cleverly used both John Egan and John Lundstram in their Oli McBurnie signing announcement, with the former Blades favourites getting the band back together for the upcoming season.
Sheffield United supporters reacted to this in mixed fashion, as one supporter took to social media and said: “Feel violently sick watching that.”
One Blades fan was in agreement, having written ‘me too’ at the confirmation that they had not only lost McBurnie, but he was alongside former Sheffield United stars Lundstram and Egan at another Yorkshire club.
However, not all Sheffield United fans were too concerned, as one replied: ‘Why? He didn’t want to come and we didn’t really want him otherwise we would have made a better offer. Joined Lundstram and Egan at Hull and all 3 have seen better days to be honest.”
Another supporter backed up their point, suggesting that he had ‘never heard of feeling sick with pure joy and relief’.

Blades must find an alternative Kieffer Moore replacement
Following Kieffer Moore’s £4m move to Sheffield United, it was clear that Ruben Selles was keen to bring in Oli McBurnie as the Welshman’s replacement, and it would have been a brilliant one regarding the finances involved in such a deal.
However, the Scotsman has opted for East Yorkshire, and Sheffield United are back to square one in their quest for a forward.
They will struggle to find many options with vast Championship quality and experience that McBurnie possessed in such a financially viable deal, but they must try.
Moore’s departure from Bramall Lane has left a gaping hole in the squad, one that must be filled by COH Sports as soon as possible.
