It’s been a challenging summer for Hull City, but for the most part, they have negotiated their hurdles.
There is no denying that new manager Sergej Jakirovic would have hoped for an easier first couple of months in charge with the Tigers having a three-window transfer ban placed on them, but there is potentially light at the end of the tunnel.
The East Yorkshire outfit have appealed against this embargo and now they will sit and wait for a verdict with more signings still needed at the MKM Stadium.
Hull have to work with the EFL before confirming any deals, and they cannot splash out on fees. That has made a move for Matija Frigan more difficult, but Jakirovic is positive about the future.

Hull City believe a deal for Matija Frigan can still work
The Tigers have been interested in Frigan for a number of weeks, but their advances have been halted by the club’s issues off the pitch.

Nevertheless, with the appeal scheduled for today (Wednesday 6 August), there may be some positivity to come for Hull. The new boss of the East Yorkshire club managed the Croatian forward at Rijeka, and is keen to reunite with the 22-year-old.
Jakirovic said on the situation (via: Hull Live): “He’s a very good player. He’s a very good player, now with Belgian championship experience. I think he will help us a lot, but right now we cannot do anything, because he doesn’t want to come on loan; he wants a permanent transfer, so we must wait.
“Maybe after the sixth of August, it will change everything, but he’s one of the players who want to come to play for Hull City, which is perfect.”

Matija Frigan would be a huge coup for the Tigers
As the Tigers await the verdict of their appeal, Frigan may nervously be waiting to see whether he will be making the move to the MKM Stadium.
He scored 14 goals in all competitions last season for Belgian side Westerlo, and he has already found the back of the net in the Jupiler Pro League.

Oli McBurnie is set to join Hull, but bringing in more threat up front is Jakirovic’s aim and he can do exactly that with Frigan.
However, this all hinges on whether the EFL clear the Tigers and allow them to start spending this summer.
