On the 158th anniversary of Sheffield Wednesday, Owls fans still cannot escape the dread of the situation placed on them by Dejphon Chansiri as they send a message to the owner.

Sheffield Wednesday’s 2025/26 Championship season has been revealing so far, whether it be the incredible character shown by the players who have been put in an incredibly difficult position, or the disregard that Dejphon Chansiri has shown to the club and the people who represent it.

The majority of the Sheffield Wednesday fanbase have turned on Chansiri, with protests taking place at each game as Owls supporters vocalise their discontent towards the owner.

As the club reaches its 158th anniversary, Sheffield Wednesday fans plan to protest outside the Thai embassy as a unique way of spreading the message of the club’s issues.

The anniversary of a club should be a time of reflection and celebration, but instead, Sheffield Wednesday supporters have been left dreading the worst.

Sheffield Wednesday fans send direct message to Dejphon Chansiri on 158th anniversary

Sheffield Wednesday supporters were not keen to share any pleasantries as the club reached 158 years of existence.

Anger runs throughout the fanbase, and that is often directed towards Dejphon Chansiri, who continues to lurk in the shadows while the club rots.

Taking to social media, one Sheffield Wednesday fan said: “The best birthday present that Sheffield Wednesday can wish for is that Chansiri announces that he has sold the club.”

Another supporter went down a similar route in the historic day for the football club, where he said: “The best birthday present would be the hateful Chansiri selling up and never darkening our door again!”

Fans continued to show their understandable pessimism, as one said: “Here’s hoping we make 159 years old.”

Another fan said: “Feels like there’s definitely more downs than ups following this club, but we keep coming back for more… Keep the faith, UTO!”

Owls players have covered themselves in glory despite club shenanigans

Sheffield Wednesday have been dragged through the mire by Dejphon Chansiri this summer, which is visible by the current state of the first-team.

The Sheffield Wednesday squad is a shadow of its former self, with several players moving on this summer and not being able to replace them.

It is bound to be an incredibly challenging season, with many fans accepting relegation at this early stage, but this is not a reflection of the players still at the club, it is the mismanagement that has led to this.

The current crop of players have shown to have an incredible amount of fight and spirit in spite of the plague of concerns they face, and no matter what happens this season, the fans will always reflect on them fondly for representing the club despite the issues.
