Sheffield Wednesday are in a state of limbo right now, with murmurs of positive news in what has been a catastrophic summer.
Owls players may be able to start the process of leaving the club from Tuesday if they are not paid, with Danny Rohl taking training for the first time this season after previously telling members of the squad that he will be leaving.
There are hopes that a takeover could be completed, with Tilman Fertitta named as the interested party. However, Dejphon Chansiri is leaving £4m of footballing debt to the next owner.
Players are being sold to raise funds to help in the short-term, with Djeidi Gassama set to join Rangers. But the departure of Anthony Musaba to Turkish club Samsunspor has caught the eye, especially after his welcome from his new supporters.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters warn Samsunspor after Anthony Musaba welcome
The winger never quite found the form and confidence that he wanted to last season at Sheffield Wednesday, and a move was perhaps always on the cards this summer.

On his day, Musaba is a very good player, but he only showed flashes of that during his time at Hillsborough. Nevertheless, the Samsunspor supporters gave him quite the welcome in Türkiye.
One supporter wrote: “Will be an amazing player when he figures out how to use his ability which aint likely.”
While another put: “They’re easily pleased.”
One Sheffield Wednesday fan was a little bit more lenient: “I appreciate any excuse to get excited. Must feel exciting for the player.”
But a fifth was quite honest in his approach: “Jeez are they in for a disappointing first game.”

The Owls need concrete good news soon
Sheffield Wednesday are closing in on a signing, but there is no denying that trying to bring in the players that they need to help stave off relegation will be tough.
With a takeover potentially in the pipeline, there will be hopes that this terrible situation can come to a positive conclusion soon, but Owls fans will want concrete news quickly rather than just media reports.
Although losing Musaba is not the end of the world, it is not a good look for the Championship outfit that they are losing players so easily and Sheffield Wednesday remain in major trouble ahead of the first Championship fixtures of 2025/26.
