Sheffield Wednesday fans told one thing will come to an end soon, they have renewed confidence

Sheffield Wednesday are in the midst of disaster.

Dejphon Chansiri’s failure to pay players in both May and June resulted in the Owls being placed under a three-window transfer ban, while Michael Smith and Josh Windass both left the club as free agents last week.

Windass is set to join Wrexham after departing the South Yorkshire outfit, as the Red Dragons return to the second tier after three consecutive promotions.

Nevertheless, the situation at Sheffield Wednesday is dire and supporters are worried after the ensuing fire sale. However, this may have now come to an end.

Sheffield Wednesday expect player sales to stop

Key players have been lost this summer, with Djeidi Gassama’s move to Rangers perhaps the toughest to take for fans.

However, after losing well over 10 players this summer, Sheffield Wednesday may be about to turn a corner with The Star reporting that the club are confident that there will be no more players sold.

Barry Bannan is training with the club, although he is technically a free agent, and there will be hopes that he can return as a full-time squad member soon to help give the team a fighting chance of survival.

However, if players are not paid on 31 July, some individuals may resubmit their notices and more departures could be on the cards.

The Owls are teetering on a tightrope

Danny Rohl is set to leave Sheffield Wednesday, but supporters are still waiting for a further update on that decision with just over two weeks to go until the new Championship season starts.

Frustrations are rightly boiling over, with the North Stand potentially being closed for the opening games after it was rejected for a safety certificate.

Fans are also angry at the price of the home shirt, and there is not much at all that the Owls are getting right at this moment in time. Relegation feels like a certainty at this point, but the most important thing for Sheffield Wednesday right now is for a takeover to go through.
