Sheffield Wednesday woes have continued as Dejphon Chansiri shows a willingness to make one decision with Danny Rohl that the fans wouldn’t agree with.
The summer has been riddled with issues for Sheffield Wednesday, who still find themselves on the EFL embargo list.
Sheffield Wednesday have been unable to pay players and staff on time for May, and whilst it is reported that issues with the backroom and non-playing staff are resolved, players are still seemingly left in the dark.
To make matters worse, the Owls still lack clarity on the manager front; Danny Rohl is still in charge at Sheffield Wednesday but has shown clear intent to move on ahead of the 2025/26.
Dejphon Chansiri is aware that Rohl’s ongoing exodus from Sheffield Wednesday could take its toll on the club’s pre-season, but how the Owls owner is looking to bring him back into the country is certainly eye-raising.

Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri wants Danny Rohl to return imminently despite the summer break
With pre-season ahead of the 2025/26 season looming for Sheffield Wednesday, it looks set to be a rough one with Rohl’s current whereabouts.
Rohl has been linked to several jobs, particularly in his home country of Germany, but the sizeable release clause placed on the boss by Chansiri has made it incredibly difficult for him to leave Sheffield Wednesday.
Despite concerns surrounding pay, Chansiri has shown no mercy, demanding that he return imminently from his holiday, per The Sun.
It is reported that if Rohl refuses to obey Chansiri’s commands, Sheffield Wednesday could easily fine the boss.

Dejphon Chansiri’s actions have made it incredibly difficult for Danny Rohl to return to Hillsborough
The last thing that Sheffield Wednesday need in this moment of uncertainty is a manager unwilling to work for the club, especially one who doesn’t have an obvious exit route from S6.
Whilst Rohl’s own decisions certainly play a part, having shown plenty of desire to leave Sheffield Wednesday, something that has concerned Owls fans at times, the blame must surely fall on Chansiri’s shoulders.
The correlation between Rohl’s comments in the media regarding the German letting Chansiri know what he wants for the future seemed to be around March, when the first issues surrounding payment surfaced.
Since then, Chansiri’s inability to pay the players and non-playing staff on time would have understandably rubbed Rohl the wrong way. In such a position, Chansiri should have no obligation to recall Rohl instantly, especially with the way that players and staff have been left without payment recently.
