Birmingham City have been backed to make history with back-to-back promotions to book a place back in the Premier League.
It comes as the Blues have finally booked their place back into the Championship, with Birmingham earning promotion from League One in their previous outing.
Having won promotion with six games to go, Chris Davies has made the Midlands outfit a tough one to break down.
The ambitions of the hierarchy at Birmingham are much loftier than a place back in the second tier, though, with aims of making the Premier League soon.
Given the investment in the squad, there have been some predicting a potential second promotion on the cards, which includes Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry.

Barry Fry backs Birmingham City for back-to-back promotion due to the fans, owners and finances
While Birmingham lost the EFL Trophy final to Peterborough, many will walk away from the campaign thinking of it as a success.
The ultimate goal of promotion as champions has been completed, but Tom Wagner is eyeing another promotion for Birmingham.
The Blues could be one of a few sides to make history by sealing promotion to the Championship and then the Premier League back-to-back next season, not least with the ambitions they have.
Peterborough’s director of football, Barry Fry, is among those who believe that a double promotion could be on the cards.
He told BBC Radio West Midlands: “Birmingham City are the best team in the division by a mile. They’re the richest club, they’ve got a fanbase that everybody would die for, and they have an owner that gives them financial stability now.
“The recruitment they’ve done, especially with their manager Chris Davies, is absolutely top drawer.
“I tip them to go again, back-to-back promotions, that’s how ambitious they are. The stadium at St Andrew’s isn’t big enough to get all the Bluenoses in – that’s why the owner is building a new one.”
If the Midlands outfit were to do it, then they would join a group of teams to make history in that way.

Every team to earn double promotion from League One to Premier League
Double promotion from League One to the Premier League is no easy feat, but it is something that has been achieved a few times.
Watford were the first to complete it in the current format, doing so from 1997 up to promotion in 1999.
Just a few years later, Manchester City did the same, before an 11-year wait for Norwich to follow along with Southampton.
| Club | Years |
|---|---|
| Watford | 1997-1999 |
| Manchester City | 1998-2000 |
| Norwich City | 2009-2011 |
| Southampton | 2010-2012 |
| Ipswich Town | 2022-2024 |
Ipswich Town are the latest to do so, completing it in 2024, with Birmingham the next team to try and achieve the impressive feat.
