Tom Brady and Tom Wagner’s Birmingham City have been praised on the back of Salford City’s recent takeover.
Tom Wagner is the chairman of Birmingham City, with Tom Brady coming on board back in 2023.
The Blues’ first full season after Brady’s investment saw them relegated down to League One.
Brady made a promise to Birmingham fans at the time, which has certainly come true this season.
The Midlands outfit won the third tier with a record points total and are back in the Championship for 2025/26.
Now, Salford City are looking to replicate the success of both Birmingham and Wrexham.

David Beckham praises Tom Brady and Tom Wagner after Salford City takeover
It was announced on May 8 that David Beckham and Gary Neville had led a takeover of Salford City.
The Manchester United legends are working with U.S.-based advisory firm Consello and have raised $15-20 million (around £15m) in order to boost Salford’s sporting and infrastructural ambitions.
Salford have spent the last six seasons in League Two, with their highest finish coming in 2022/23 (seventh).
Now, after the takeover was completed, Beckham praised Brady and Wagner for the work they have done with Birmingham.
He said, as per The Athletic: “Tom Wagner and Tom Brady have done an incredible job with Birmingham. I went to a game a few months back and the atmosphere in the stadium was one of the best I’ve seen for a long time. That’s what we want to create. We want to create that community, add to the community and fan base we’ve already got — and then lift it.
“When you see what the Toms are doing, there is investment, there is a plan and it would be the dream to talk about the growth of Salford City.
“It’s not only growth on the field, which is what we care most about, but we want success. Because if we’re having success then we’re also having the opportunity to say: ‘Now we’re going to invest, now we’re going to get a bigger stadium, now we’re going to get a bigger training facility and then it will go on. That is what we’re aiming for.”

Tom Brady on Birmingham promotion
Birmingham will spend aggressively in the 2025 summer transfer window as they look to follow in Ipswich Town’s footsteps and win back-to-back promotions to the Premier League.
Brady commented on promotion last month during the club’s EFL Trophy final meeting with Peterborough United.
When doing so, he claimed the club will need to start fresh despite being so successful in 2024/25.
Brady said: “This has obviously been a great season for us, today is a tremendous moment for the club.
“But the reality of sports is you start fresh every year, every year you start right back at the bottom, nothing is given to you, you have to go and earn it every year.
“Next year is next year, we start that when it comes, and you’ve got to put the same amount of determination into next year.”
