One Sheffield United star has been linked with a move away from the club, and COH Sports’ next move should be obvious.
Sheffield United were handed a defeat to Bristol City on the opening day of the 2025/26 Championship season, in a game that showed there was plenty of work to be done by the Blades.
Ruben Selles has lost support from a selection of Sheffield United fans after what was a disastrous first outing for the Portuguese man’s side at Bramall Lane.
Whilst the Blades offered excitement on the front foot, with new Sheffield United signing Louie Barry providing plenty of excitement, issues arose in defence that were inexcusable.
It is clear that United need more bodies through the door in defence; however, things could get worse amid links of one Blades star moving away from Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United must not entertain Wrexham interest in Jack Robinson
Ruben Selles lined up with Tyler Bindon and Rhys Nottington-Davies as his centre-backs as part of a back four against Bristol City; a decision which proved to backfire for the Blades boss.
It is clear that options are minimal at the back for Selles, and things could be made worse for Sheffield United.
As reported by The Sun, Wrexham are interested in Sheffield United defender Jack Robinson.
Talks have hit a wall after United sold Anel Ahmedhodzic to Feyenoord, but Wrexham remain keen on striking a deal.
The 4-1 defeat to Bristol City was surely enough for COH Sports to understand the necessity of bringing extra bodies through the door at centre-back, and that if they entertained any offers for Robinson, it would turn a prominent concern into a drastic one.

Defensive recruitment is paramount for Ruben Selles to succeed
Heads are already beginning to turn on Ruben Selles after just one game this season, and whilst Sheffield United did not quite execute the game plan brilliantly, more eyes should be on the lack of backing that the Portuguese boss has received this summer.
United made the call to sell Anel Ahmedhodzic to Feyenoord, and now they must be proactive by finding his replacement, and fast.
Providing that the Blades can keep Jack Robinson amid interest from Wrexham, as well as bring in two further recruits, hopefully Selles will be able to turn around what has been a very early slip-up for the Blades.
